God damn imagining being handed the fukken election and blowing it all in just over a hundred days. From the moment of Kamala's blood and soil-ass DNC speech to now her campaign staff has seemingly been doing everything it possibly could to lose.

This isn't like with Hillary where she came into the race with decades of baggage. Kamala was almost a blank slate, and had every opportunity to define who she was and what politics she represented over the past three months. She fucking chose to tack right, validate everything the Republicans have been saying about a dozen issues, abandon large chunks of the Democratic voting bloc, kill Democrat messaging that was actually working (calling R's "weird," talking about abortion rights), bring ghouls like the Cheneys on stage and utterly refuse to say the one goddamn thing that ninety percent of the under-thirty voters wanted her to say.

when the fuck did Kamala have a 20 point advantage

[–] Mindfury@hexbear.net 18 points 27 minutes ago (3 children)

Whose fault will it be this time? Russia? Iran? Palestine? China? Will the Dems just shrug their shoulders and say it's men or whites or farmers or whatever that are too sexist/racist/homophobic? It can never be their god awful strategies of offering black men crypto and weed, offering Arabs a Genocide Lite™ instead of Genocide Pro Max, offering nice deportation instead of evil deportation to Latinos, and offering nothing but scolding and contempt for poorer rural whites. There's much wrong with Americans, but the Democrats fucking suck at this.

[–] SeventyTwoTrillion@hexbear.net 18 points 20 minutes ago

Whose fault will it be this time?

there just were not enough Pell Grant recipients receiving loans for setting up clown colleges in their local neighbourhoods for at least ten years or whatever it was

Wierd that "build the wall, we're gonna deport more people than Trump" didn't help Kamala with Latino voters.

[–] Redcuban1959@hexbear.net 17 points 27 minutes ago (1 children)

They also brought Bill Clinton and Obama to scold Black and Latino voters

Holy shit, Kamala is losing badly. I guess don't betray your voters, scold them and attempt to appeal to gusanos and white supremacist that will never vote for you.

That popular vote lmao. Imagine Trump doing a clean sweep of both the EC and popular vote, the liberals will be in a permanent meltdown.

The Palestinian will achieve liberation through weapons and violence against the settler colonial state of "israel" and their allies the United States, whatever happens with the elections.

Free Palestine. Death to "israel".

If Kamala loses, I actually don’t think them blaming the left is gonna work. She went so unabashedly hard right in the campaign, and she was doing so well when she let Walz do his thing. Then she inexplicably made Liz Cheney her de facto VP and started talking like an open fascist.

I don’t know if we can pin it all on Gaza, but I do think the only conclusion anyone will be able to come to is campaigning to the right of Biden was terrible.

This is so funny, this fucker is about to win again. I genuinely thought that it was joever for him in the last few days, but you can never count him out. God I will enjoy the meltdown so much, I hope that the Dems lose PA by the exact number of Jill Stein votes just to laugh at them even more.

[–] Redcuban1959@hexbear.net 14 points 26 minutes ago

I think they are losing PA now lol

[–] Wertheimer@hexbear.net 20 points 20 minutes ago

The Pennsylvania counties where Harris is strong have the bulk of the votes that remain to be counted. I hereby predict that all of tonight's conspiracy theories will begin from the final 5% of the votes to be counted in Pennsylvania.

[–] SeventyTwoTrillion@hexbear.net 42 points 45 minutes ago* (last edited 42 minutes ago) (6 children)

well, my plan was to just go to sleep once it became clear that Harris was gonna coast to victory, but now it looks like the Democrats might well be on their second once-a-century fuckup in a decade, so I can't look away

i'm gonna need coffee in the morning

[–] context@hexbear.net 28 points 43 minutes ago

if i've said it once i've said it 72 trillion times, never underestimate the ability of democrats to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory

Looking forward to hearing how Kamala lost because third parties/ Russian bots/ sexism/ not leaning right enough/ etc. and not the ongoing genocide.

[–] Redcuban1959@hexbear.net 13 points 24 minutes ago

She also promised to deport more Latinos than Trump

[–] grazing7264@hexbear.net 27 points 38 minutes ago* (last edited 34 minutes ago)

71%+ Trump probability

Oof ouch who could have thought refusing to end a genocide would be so unpopular with critical voters

New needlepost, Trump with a 79% chance of winning and leading the popular vote. We are approaching bratover territory

[–] GnastyGnuts@hexbear.net 29 points 45 minutes ago

... Well, it looks like I've failed to call another election by underestimating how fucking bad at politics the democrats are. They look to be doing bad in the congressional elections too. Goddamn. Technically it isn't over and I think the math means she can still pull through (I'm loaded and cannot currently do basic math), but jeeze.

Hearing all the white people around me at my job talk about "Illegals" really makes me think of this song.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=5mjrT3N4hNo

I hate Florida and this country. The Mexican cook in my department literally told me he's afraid this racist rhetoric will result in people like him being attacked, despite the white people I've talked to tonight all claiming it's only about the "illegal" ones.

The five stages are denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance.

if trump destroys the US I am going to be very angry and mad at those who refused to vote or voted for stein, because it will be partially their fault too

So far, the states with a marked increase in third-party votes compared to 2020 only have that increase because the Greens were only write-in candidates last time. Virginia's the biggest difference I've found, but so far I'm pretty disappointed that the total third-party numbers aren't noticeably going up.

Take New Jersey, for instance, which should have been safe enough that any Harris-skeptic would have felt free to vote for a leftist candidate. Last time, the Libertarians were in third place with 0.7%. Right now, the Greens are in third place with 0.7%.

I guess it depends on mail in votes, but I become less sure it will be close

[–] Lovely_sombrero@hexbear.net 12 points 27 minutes ago (1 children)

Some states count mail in votes (that they already received) first. That is why this might be actually worse than you think. She really needs to get lucky in a very few specific states. Losing the popular vote but winning the electoral collage is still possible, but getting harder for her.
