Not exactly sure how to articulate this.

My instagram shorts feed feels completely Sci-Fi level manipulative and conditioning.

And I realize that in some ways, I have programmed it.

So it makes me wonder how others are programming and getting programmed by these super manipulative video feeds.

Short of walking up to strangers and asking, “hey, can I compare your feed to mine?” What can someone do to get a more Birds Eye view of what this cancerous infection instagram is doing to society?

Like I get the push more air through your mouth and get louder but my voice never breaks. I just get louder and louder and louder until I can't get louder anymore.

One time a friend of mine was a half a block away in the wrong direction and I screamed their name and they jumped because they said it sounded like I was right behind them talking in my normal voice just very loudly.

But then I listen to singers and they get that raw raspy edge to their voice and my voice doesn't do that.

How do you do that?

How the hell did the character get so viral? I've tried watching the skits several times to see if maybe I'm missing something, but for the life of me, I can't seem to see it. Is everyone just biased because it's Tom Hanks? Or is it actually hilarious, and I'm just struggling to understand the humor? Fall/Spooky season is my absolute favorite time of year, but am I just a buzz kill?

I noticed today that my caffeine tolerance seems to be really low while recovering from a tonsillectomy, is this plausible? What about other surgeries?

I love github and open source but when you have to install a library that isn't in your os's repository, oh boy.

In my current project, I need freetype. It compiles with make and make install. Now it's in my usr/lib/freetype2 and usr/include/freetype2 directory. The only problem is that the source files expect it to be in usr/lib and usr/include. The only fix is to manually change every include until it matches. You can get creative with find and replace but there is no 1 command fix and no matter what it's always a lot of work and consumes a lot of time.

While I could sit down and actually do that, I'm just going to have to do the same thing every time I want to compile it on a different distro or on a different system. I'd rather put the files in my source directory so it'll just compile every time so I only have to do this once.

I'm reasonably sure this isn't what you're supposed to do but I've shoehorned the last several libraries I needed into my project this way. A shitty hack that I only have to do once is better than a shitty hack I have to do a lot of times.

Is there a better way? It would have been so much easier to make everything have a top level h file but they split it into a lib and src directory which makes everything a huge pain in the ass when it doesn't work.

I have been using Logitech peripherals for years. Logitech gear always just worked.

Now they demand internet accounts to use the features of the keyboard and mouse that I purchased. WTF?

Not only that, have to use wide-open-to-snooping Chrome to adjust the settings. You cannot adjust/use your mouse and keyboard if you just use Firefox.

This only makes sense if they are planning (or are already) tracking my every move online to sell to advertisers or spooks.

What are the good options?

Also, if anybody sees how these changes could be benign, please let me know.

The Logi SetPoint Settings I open from Windows now requires you to log into your Logitech account to make changes to your Unifying or 2.4 ghz usb receiver. This link takes you to a screen that says Logi Web Connect. It does not work unless you use the latest version of Chrome, Edge, & Opera, but reccomends Chrome for the best experience.

Logitech + used to require this to enable options, but I don’t see it on my Windows computer anymore. It is still on my Mac, but upon opening it to confirm for this message, it seems to be announcing that it is now able to incorporate AI into everything I type. (ugggh)

I have seen at least 1 meme or other joke somewhere on the platform where one also mentioned a "twink" and where that word appeared to be the punchline somehow. I've scrolled through Urban Dictionary a bit (haha) and the meanings mentioned there are either literal, using burger as a metaphor for the kind of person who looks like they consume burgers regularly, as a random surrogate for things that are kind of round (haha) or even that aren't, or 1 Instance of fandom ship name for piece of media where the name of a character sounds like the word for onions in Japanese. That didn't really get me anywhere. Did I correctly pick up that I don't get it, or is there nothing more to this word?

I workout with leggings and wonder which option reduces whale tailing.

A string’s waistband is much thinner than a thong’s. Does this mean whale tailing happens more often with strings than with thongs? If the waistband is not a string, but a wider piece of fabric, the piece should stay where it should be longer than a string and the waistband won’t ride over my hips when I workout, jump or stretch.

Is this how it works?

I’m skinny and don’t have wide hips or waist, if that makes a difference.

How come LED Light Bulbs only last for about 2-3 Years?

I've bought and replaced a lot of light bulbs, and I noticed that all of them said "up to 20,000 hours" which would be about 5 years given 12 hours of daily use (which we definitely don't).

Prerun is one that comes to mind as he digs, thinks, and explains, and is willing to say he's wrong. Business Insider is another one that has a great number of in depth topics, even if not quite as much as one might want sometimes. DW is another. RealLifeLore also seems to some great explaining. LegalEagle similar.

All of these are debatable to a greater or lesser degree, but I'm interested in alternative sources. What else is out there? What platform? Why?

@nostupidquestions Why do people like crt shaders in the retroarch community. There's so many videos about it. Is it a product of their time or are non-crt experiencers doing it?
Maybe it's a way for their smoothening upscaling shaders to look more pixelated and retro?

I thought about this in response to a comment someone made and postured a position in which the RNC and DNC are really just two monopoly companies at this point (link).
