god i've seen so many of these sorts of things over the last few days. americans are so thoroughly deranged over this election that they can't read??

there were legitimately a fair few people in the notes genuinely upset about this. everyone on this site is under 30, how are they this Boomer™

[–] Parzivus@hexbear.net 26 points 1 hour ago

It's so obviously photoshopped too lol

Because Americans treat politics like religion and the anti-Trump propaganda has been very effective.

The WaPo does an excellent impression of The Onion. Even the guy's name.

CNN released its first glimpse of the 2024 election results a little after 5 p.m. ET Tuesday. Exit polling is expected to shift throughout the night as more responses are collected.

In the poll, 43 percent of voters said they are "dissatisfied" with "the way things are going in the United States." Another 29 percent said they feel "angry."

You'd think after 236 years of pointless voting, everyone would have learned their lesson.

One of the few funny things that will happen is that Elon Musk will have meltdown if Kamala wins

Ok so it's kinda starting now right? I'm at work, when should I start bothering to check to get an idea of how it's going? A few hours or should I just not bother till I get off around 11est

[–] Thorngraff_Ironbeard@hexbear.net 18 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

Result ls will start coming in after 7, but it's pretty damn slow because of how inefficient our counting is.

Bernie Sanders wins fourth term in Vermont, defeating Republican Gerald Malloy

Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., won reelection Tuesday, defeating Republican Gerald Malloy and securing his fourth term in the U.S. Senate. At 83, Sanders will continue his decades-long career in Washington with another six-year term.

Known as a leading progressive, Sanders has championed policies like Medicare for All and a higher federal minimum wage. First elected to the U.S. House in 1991, Sanders moved to the Senate in 2007 and ran for president in 2016 and 2020.

Though he is an Independent, Sanders is expected to continue caucusing with the Democratic Party.

You should go to a retirement home instead

Just voted in new york.

For some reason they were using sharpies, not even fine point ones to fill out rhe ballot.

Could not even kinda of legibly write Claudia De La Cruz in the space. Oh well guess we'll find out if my vote was counted when there's zero votes for her in the county.

[–] Rojo27@hexbear.net 14 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

Doesn't seem right. I did early voting and got a pen and my mom voted today and she also got a pen.

Hasan beating Kai Cenat right now in total viewers 251K vs 210K. The one time every four years where that would be possible lol

Nevada’s secretary of state, seeing high number of rejected ballots in Clark and Washoe, says one of the biggest issues is that the signatures of younger voters don’t always match what’s on their driver’s licenses:

“It’s mostly the fact that young people don’t have signatures these days. And when they did register to vote through the automatic voter registration process, they signed a digital pad at D.M.V., and that became their license signature.”

This election is such a joke lol

CNN has one better than a plain old Live Updates page. They've got Pundit Livechat. Who wants that crap?

I have to ask, if Trump is such a threat to the very democracy of this country why is he allowed to even run? The president was given the power to do anything they want and could have jailed him by now. What gives?

I saw early ballot counting (I think it was on ABC), and a lot of states had very high percentages of "other" voters, sometimes more than Harris or Trump. Think it's the Green/PSL voters, or is this a normal occurrence?

[–] Parzivus@hexbear.net 38 points 3 hours ago (5 children)

Nevada Secretary of State is saying they're rejecting a record number of ballots because the handwritten signatures don't match the digital pad signatures from the DMV. Disproportionately affects young people since the digital signature thing is a recent change. Expect results to take days if it isn't close

Also don't have a good source but apparently there was some issue in Milwaukee and they're recounting all 30k absentee ballots already. Great system folks
