Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Brian Cox, who played Lecter in the 1986 film "Manhunter," commented to Deadline in an interview last year regarding Trump: "How the f--k can this country vote for such a f--king a----le?"

[–] Rapidcreek@reddthat.com 12 points 1 year ago

What I came here to say. Thanks.

[–] GiantRobotTRex@lemmy.sdf.org 9 points 1 year ago

How did they decide which letters to censor? Especially for "a----le". Why the "l" but not the "h" or "o"?

[–] happilybitchycowboy@lemmy.world 52 points 1 year ago (5 children)

Eat the rich just got a new meaning...

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 22 points 1 year ago

“Don’t eat junk food.”- Hannibal, maybe

[–] thorbot@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

Eating shit just got a new meaning…

[–] ThePantser@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

He eats too many Hamburders and probably tastes gamey. A nice grass fed Trump might be better.

[–] Cylusthevirus@kbin.social 7 points 1 year ago

Well your factory fed Trumps are pretty pale; they get all their coloration from artificial bronzing agents. But a grass fed Trump gets his color from eating a diet rich in beta carotene.

[–] DigitalTraveler42@lemm.ee 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

No Donald Trump would eat the poor, and a whole lot of them, just like most of his policies.

Same one as before I think.

[–] e_mc2@feddit.nl 45 points 1 year ago (2 children)

And if you read the article, it is yet another lie. This man is simply not capable of not lying.

[–] irmoz@reddthat.com 2 points 1 year ago

Did you really expect it to be true? Why did you even consider that it could be true?

[–] RojoSanIchiban@lemmy.world 38 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Every rambling, incoherent, traitorous "speech" this dumbfuck makes has dozens of "what the actual fuck" deranged moments that would have the right absolutely jumping-insane-frothing-spewing-shit-out-their-asses crazy if Joe Biden said even ONE of them.

This cult needs to fuck off to Russia already. All of them.

[–] Denalduh@lemmy.world 15 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Biden should straight up troll the MAGA base by repeating one of trumps batshit crazy quotes. Let them take the bait and clutch their pearls. Unfortunately, I know that base is too ignorant/hypocritical for it to make any sense and it would probably do more damage than good.

[–] _g_be@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

You're suggesting pointing out hypocrisy. Pointing it out is entirely ineffective. They just laugh and call it "owning the libs" because they are subverting the system and getting what they want. I wouldn't dismiss it as 'ignorant' so much as malicious.

[–] TheLowestStone@lemmy.world 32 points 1 year ago

Wow... this one isn't The Onion either.

And the only time I can see Mads Mikkelsen saying anything about Trump, he seems rather indifferent to him.

[–] ChrisLicht@lemm.ee 24 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Hypothesis: He confused noted Trump fan and Lebaron driver, Jon Voigt, for Anthony Hopkins.

Or he's just making shit up knowing that his base will eat it up without thinking

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago

LOL, check the teeth marks maybe.

[–] AbouBenAdhem@lemmy.world 21 points 1 year ago (1 children)

“He’s always inviting me over for dinner!”

[–] riskable@programming.dev 3 points 1 year ago

It makes sense if you think of the exposed brain scene 🤷

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 18 points 1 year ago

...and bothsiderists - and of course the radicalized right wing - have the gall to talk about Biden's mental condition?

[–] Pratai@lemmy.ca 18 points 1 year ago

Anything that trump “boasts” is either entirely untrue, unreal, or just batshit insane and should be dismissed.

[–] YurkshireLad@lemmy.ca 13 points 1 year ago

Trump’s supporters are probably saying that Lecter is now their favourite actor.

[–] Tronn4@lemmy.world 10 points 1 year ago

He's like Billy Madison when he explains all that stupid shit and the principal tells him everyone in the room is stupider because of him but he loves the attention anyway

[–] zammy95@lemmy.world 9 points 1 year ago

Ted Bundy is half sonichu and Hannibal the Cannibal stans Trump. What a weird week

[–] Xariphon@kbin.social 8 points 1 year ago

One psychopath to another he probably would.

[–] thorbot@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago

All that orange makeup is leaking into his shriveled little brain. I wonder what other fictional character will endorse him next?

“Scooby Doo said he loves me! So I love him. I love him. I love him”

Okay gramps, time to go back to the home

[–] stopthatgirl7@kbin.social 6 points 1 year ago

Hannibal wouldn’t even eat him, and the rude are normally his favorite meal.
