Unfortunately, politics is teams sports in this country. Too many people are concerned with their side winning rather than what is best for the country or even for themselves. The propaganda machine has pushed people to support a small subset of issues as the biggest issues and these are often not the issues that actually have any impact on the day-to-day lives of most Americans. Critical thinking is not part of the discourse anymore for a large percentage, just rhetoric and slogans.

Thankfully, both of the DeSantis and Mom's for Book Burning endorsed candidates in our school board elections lost significantly. I think that leaves 2 voices that are more concerned with their conservative indoctrination than actual educational instruction. Hopefully they get kicked next go round. One of the websites flaunted the candidates politics, GOP-endorsements, and overall "look how anti-woke I am, boy howdy!" and never once mentioned anything about the kids. Such losers.

I posit that that is true here in my neck of the woods as well. I pay my taxes but I don't feel like anyone who represents me in local, state, or federal government has my interests at heart at all. I vote but so do all the morons around me who vote against their own interests.
