Separate from the article, he's also refusing to extend voter registration deadlines because of the storm unlike South Carolina. Today is still unfortunately Florida's voter registration deadline, make sure to register: https://vote.gov/register

Committing neglectful manslaughter to own the libs.

Plenty of people are upset, just not most of the people who can vote this guy out. The wealthy and powerful have their feet on the necks of the people... And half of those people are asking for more weight, having bought the lie that this is all for the greater good.

[-] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 17 points 2 days ago

Despite the overwhelming tsunami of evidence available to them 24/7.

Yeah. Propaganda’s a bitch.

[-] ilinamorato@lemmy.world 13 points 2 days ago

tsunami

Oh, no, I thought it was just a hurricane!

[-] Etterra@lemmy.world 23 points 2 days ago

He's a ghoul and was running out of dead children to eat.

It’ll work

Everyone call his office and tell him how disappointed you are with his childish behavior.

Office of Governor Ron DeSantis

State of Florida

The Capitol

400 S. Monroe St.

Tallahassee, FL 32399-0001

(850) 717-9337

Link to his office contact info here

What a sad and pathetic excuse for a human being ronnie is.

[-] jordanlund@lemmy.world 96 points 2 days ago

“seemed political" but at the same time, refuses to take the call.

How do you know the call is political if you refuse to take it?

[-] aphlamingphoenix@lemm.ee 2 points 2 hours ago

Well, see... The president he supports withholds funding unless the municipalities affected by disasters pass a purity test, so he assumes the president he doesn't support will as well.

[-] cybervseas@lemmy.world 67 points 2 days ago

After all, she's the vice president, not just a political candidate. Organizations like FEMA are part of the executive branch. Your state is and is about to be a disaster site (again). Just pick up the phone, dude.

[-] usernamesAreTricky@lemmy.ml 59 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

He's also not spoken to the president either who has attempted to call as well. Biden is not even running for president anymore

[-] jordanlund@lemmy.world 18 points 2 days ago

Guess he doesn't want the help then!

[-] NotAnonymousAtAll@feddit.org 44 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

He wants to say "They didn't help us" later much more than he wants help now.

[-] billiam0202@lemmy.world 15 points 2 days ago

There is literally no political downside for him. He scores points with the deplorables by ignoring the federal government, and he knows the Dems would never refuse to send aid so he doesn't have to ask for it. Also he can't run for re-election and he got trounced for the GOP ticket by failing to out-Trump Trump, so there's literally nothing on the line for him by being a petty little dick.

[-] gnomesaiyan@lemmy.world 64 points 2 days ago

Right as it ramps up to a Cat 5? Fucking guy!

[-] teft@lemmy.world 57 points 2 days ago

That’s Milton. Helene is the one that already hit.

[-] Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works 14 points 2 days ago

Oh, don't worry, this tactic is likely to persist right on into Milton.

[-] Vorticity@lemmy.world 12 points 2 days ago

You think he'd answer if she called to plan for Milton instead?

[-] skulblaka@sh.itjust.works 9 points 1 day ago

She probably is calling to do exactly that, but Ronnie wouldn't know

This moment for De Santis will go down in history, I think he will largely be remembered for this single horrific moment as Milton slots into the breach, the US will at a national level be a meaningfully different place by the end of the week it is going to be so bad for Florida and elsewhere.

This youtube weather channel has good coverage on the quickly worsening situation with a possible cat 5 milton.

This channel too

https://youtu.be/V4EuYnj0wLw?feature=shared

"worst case scenario" keeps coming up as a phrase

... lastly, the end of Ron Desantis's political career from space

[-] negativenull@lemmy.world 31 points 2 days ago

Ted Cruise fled to Cancun during the widespread power outages, and DeSantis refused phone calls with help for his state on the line.

[-] supersquirrel@sopuli.xyz 14 points 2 days ago

there is literally no lower rung on the ladder of "loser" than "pathetic mass murderer"

[-] fubo@lemmy.world 13 points 2 days ago

Yup. Tampa Bay is looking at a major disaster on Wednesday and DeSatans is playing politics with it.

[-] Atrichum@lemmy.world 9 points 2 days ago

Ryan Hall can be very entertaining but there are much better and professional sources of information out there. My favorite is Tropical Tidbits (https://youtube.com/@tropical-tidbits)

[-] Oyml77@lemmy.today 4 points 1 day ago

Dr. Levi Cowan is my favorite source of storm information presented in a factual and level-headed manner. I whole-heartedly endorse Tropical Tidbits. I do not endorse Ron DeSantis.

stick his midget ass out in the gulf path of milton and see if he changes his tune

[-] _bcron_@lemmy.world 40 points 2 days ago

Desantis: declares disaster ahead of Milton in order to coordinate better with federal government

Also Desantis: this

[-] mojofrododojo@lemmy.world 25 points 2 days ago

Let's see if they can fuck up florida so badly it goes blue in a month.

[-] empireOfLove2@lemmy.dbzer0.com 20 points 2 days ago

Nah all the usual outlets will just spend the next month blaming Biden and every clown will believe it.

[-] Kalkaline@leminal.space 23 points 2 days ago

"He's hurting the wrong people." His bootlicking followers probably

[-] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 25 points 2 days ago

GQP: Smaller Gub'ment!

Also GQP: Gimmie!

[-] Wilzax@lemmy.world 15 points 2 days ago

But also also GQP: Just coz I said gimmie duznt mean I'm takin handouts from the LIBS!

[-] KoboldCoterie@pawb.social 9 points 2 days ago

At least the libs are offering help, which we know from the recently unsealed documents that Trump would not be doing for states that didn't vote for him.

[-] Wilzax@lemmy.world 6 points 2 days ago

Almost like one party runs a government and the other party runs a mob

Cool guy. /s

[-] inclementimmigrant@lemmy.world 16 points 2 days ago

What a weird little bitch.

[-] MyOpinion@lemm.ee 16 points 2 days ago

Ron is a little bitch.

[-] ThePantser@lemmy.world 12 points 2 days ago

Sounds like Biden just needs to declare martial law and take over the state if the local dumbass won't cooperate. Biden has a duty to protect citizens from tyranny.

[-] Rapidcreek@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago

This storm is a freaking monster. Pressure went below 900mb a few minutes ago.

[-] thefartographer@lemm.ee 8 points 2 days ago

As Florida voters are trying to figure out why they're drowning, starving, unsheltered, and alone, just remember that the call rejections were coming from within the house.

[-] Snapz@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

Desantis is the strongest coward at the white leather boots with lifts store. Fucking loser.

[-] jaggedrobotpubes@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago

Such a whiny little bitch.
