“Boy, these conservatives are really something, aren't they? They're all in favor of the unborn. They will do anything for the unborn. But once you're born, you're on your own. Pro-life conservatives are obsessed with the fetus from conception to nine months. After that, they don't want to know about you. They don't want to hear from you. No nothing. No neonatal care, no day care, no head start, no school lunch, no food stamps, no welfare, no nothing. If you're preborn, you're fine; if you're preschool, you're fucked.”

I mean occasionally the masks does not only slips but hilariously flys off and it gets pretty clear the whole thing is born from an understanding of "Human Resources"

[–] Pandantic@midwest.social 13 points 5 months ago

That was exactly my thought. No more than working livestock.

do republicans ever ask why solid red states like Louisiana rank so highly in things like child poverty or are they such hardened ideologues that they're just going to do what clearly isn't working? or do they think that keeping minimum wage to $2/hour is somehow going to help people?

[–] BeamBrain@hexbear.net 49 points 5 months ago (2 children)

The ones in charge: know that poor children are more likely to accept work out of desperation and have never met a way to exploit the proletariat they didn't like

The everyday voters: just hate children

[–] FlakesBongler@hexbear.net 41 points 5 months ago (4 children)

Also, poor kids are more willing to join the military because they sell it as a way to escape the drudgery

[–] Pandantic@midwest.social 16 points 5 months ago (1 children)

And guess what else those states have? Poor education systems, which make for more low-income workers. And also health care! Once you’re at retirement, you’re no good to the system - in fact, you’re a drain!

[–] FlakesBongler@hexbear.net 11 points 5 months ago

Funerals are cheaper than Healthcareporky-happy

[–] Mokey@hexbear.net 12 points 5 months ago (1 children)

The thing is that if you fuck the kids over too much, theyre too stupid and unhealthy to join. Its just another idiotic american capitalist contradiction

[–] FlakesBongler@hexbear.net 8 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Yep, but after a certain point, they just want bodies

Once had a recruiter literally tell me that they basically just want people who can hold a rifle and not shoot the other troops

[–] Mokey@hexbear.net 4 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Military recruiters are fucking idiots and honestly not the arbiter of who get in or not, all they do is try to get people interested and to processing to see if they can actually join or not

Salespeople. Always the dumbest people on earth. They just literally read from a memorized script and smile a lot

[–] programmer_belch@lemmy.dbzer0.com 8 points 5 months ago (1 children)

A grenade a day keeps the recruiter away

[–] FlakesBongler@hexbear.net 8 points 5 months ago

Wait until they're on the can

I haven't met the man who can outrun a grenade with their pants around their ankles

[–] ashinadash@hexbear.net 7 points 5 months ago

And they might do crimes, handy for the prison system!

To me, the core difference between rethugs and dems has always ultimately been a palpable of hatred of children (I.e a hatred of themselves ie their inner child ie “weakness”) I wish I was kidding. It’s why they call us “snowflakes”, they hate innocence. Just hate it

yeah because the blue haired woke gay commiefornians keep stealing all of our hard earned money or any variation of those. That's not even specific to US Louisana republicans

[–] ClimateChangeAnxiety@hexbear.net 23 points 5 months ago

They do believe that which is crazy because California contributes more than it gets back, very much unlike Louisiana

[–] ashinadash@hexbear.net 8 points 5 months ago

sicko-wistful

[–] Rom@hexbear.net 24 points 5 months ago

They know, they just don't care about poor people.

[–] Posadas@hexbear.net 12 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Take a look at the demographics.

You might start to see the answer.

But doesn’t this make more babies though? More of that demographic, yet another bizarre contradiction of fascism

[–] SkingradGuard@hexbear.net 32 points 5 months ago (1 children)

I wonder if they'll ban contraceptives next, their media has been whining about sexual freedom a lot in the last 10 years.

[–] Des@hexbear.net 29 points 5 months ago

yeah there's a huge astroturfed ramp up trying to convince women they are "doing unnatural things to you" and other woo. basically taking the usual right-wing new age tack (anti-vaxx, etc) as well as legitimate big pharma fears.

like most propaganda efforts these days it's extremely ham fisted and obvious so we'll see what happens^___^

[–] Dirt_Owl@hexbear.net 29 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Hey Dems, want people to vote for you? Stop shit like this.

[–] ElChapoDeChapo@hexbear.net 15 points 5 months ago (1 children)

maybe-later-honey sorry, all we have are empty promises also all of you are literally Hamas maybe-later-kiddo

[–] BountifulEggnog@hexbear.net 7 points 5 months ago

Okay but stroking my ego isn't going to make the empty promises less empty.

[–] Ram_The_Manparts@hexbear.net 21 points 5 months ago

What do you want me to do about it, Jack? My hands are tied! whywhywhywhywhy

Anyways, get out there and vote

The war on drugs continues to do great harm to society.
