The ones in charge: know that poor children are more likely to accept work out of desperation and have never met a way to exploit the proletariat they didn't like
The everyday voters: just hate children
Also, poor kids are more willing to join the military because they sell it as a way to escape the drudgery
And guess what else those states have? Poor education systems, which make for more low-income workers. And also health care! Once you’re at retirement, you’re no good to the system - in fact, you’re a drain!

Military recruiters are fucking idiots and honestly not the arbiter of who get in or not, all they do is try to get people interested and to processing to see if they can actually join or not

To me, the core difference between rethugs and dems has always ultimately been a palpable of hatred of children (I.e a hatred of themselves ie their inner child ie “weakness”) I wish I was kidding. It’s why they call us “snowflakes”, they hate innocence. Just hate it
