Almost all screens facing the wrong direction indicates that the computer doesn't know how a computer is operated.

[–] FelipeFelop 3 points 9 months ago

Yeah, and some have screens on the front and back of the monitors. And those keyboards have hundreds of keys.

The last one looks like a weird 70s cool nerd rendition of the last supper.

[–] aeronmelon@lemmy.world 12 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Why do all of these look like tremendous fun?

[–] jballs@sh.itjust.works 6 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Cause LAN parties are fucking awesome. I'm heading to one in a couple hours!

[–] aeronmelon@lemmy.world 3 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Hopefully you have more recent equipment. :)

[–] jballs@sh.itjust.works 3 points 9 months ago

Steam Deck makes LAN parties way easier to pack for.

[–] Vinny_93@lemmy.world 12 points 9 months ago (1 children)

The people to screen ratio was weird in the 70s

[–] quaddo@lemmy.world 3 points 9 months ago

Ditto the keys per keyboard.

And the keys look like lightly toasted marshmallows.

Some glorious beards in the first and last ones 😁

[–] tetris11@lemmy.ml 10 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Add "polaroid picture" for the complete 1970s effect

[–] quaddo@lemmy.world 2 points 9 months ago

Kicked out of an SX-70

See how much fun they had no phone in sight

[–] bizarrocullen@lemmy.world 7 points 9 months ago

Wow! Those people are stoned out of their minds.

[–] Socsa@sh.itjust.works 6 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Did you specify a smokey haze or does it just do that when you ask for scenes from the 70s?

[–] jonasw@discuss.tchncs.de 3 points 9 months ago

I specified smoking pot and rock and roll

[–] mr_pip@discuss.tchncs.de 7 points 9 months ago (2 children)

what tool did you all use for creating those pictures?

[–] MyNamesNotRobert@lemmynsfw.com 3 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago)

Probably stable diffusion. You can self host either stable diffusion or easy diffusion. Easy diffusion runs on stable diffusion but its easier to deal with, the only caveat is that it isn't compatible with lycoris models.

The first one looks less like a LAN party and more like NASA ground control.

[–] xorollo@leminal.space 3 points 9 months ago

Those keyboard keys look like teeth

[–] Murdoc@sh.itjust.works 2 points 9 months ago

Large tournaments were often set up that way.

[–] GraniteM@lemmy.world 4 points 9 months ago

I can only imagine how hot it would get in those rooms.

[–] ace_garp@lemmy.world 2 points 9 months ago

NetHacking of basilisks intensifies.

[–] Etterra@lemmy.world 2 points 9 months ago

Damn, really nailed the color palette.

Why are the people mostly male?

[–] j4k3@lemmy.world 20 points 9 months ago (2 children)

Were you around when internet cafés were a thing?

I'm all for equality and diversity. There were never many if any girls in café culture, land parties, or gaming in general growing up in the 90's-00's. The friends I hung out with would have loved if that wasn't true, but it was what it was. I'm sure it wasn't that way everywhere. I'm just one life experience, but I spent a lot of time in internet cafés and it was always a sausage fest.

[–] Sylvartas@lemmy.world 10 points 9 months ago

I don't know why you're getting downvoted. I barely ever saw a woman when I was a regular at the local internet cafés, and everyone I know who was doing that has the same experience

[–] Reverendender@sh.itjust.works 4 points 9 months ago

I'm pretty sure it was that way everywhere

[–] Thorny_Insight@lemm.ee 7 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Have you been to LAN's before?

[–] 5714@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 9 months ago

Have you been to made up LAN's in the 70s before?
