Wishing my emergency bail money savings was larger so I can start shipping giant dead cockroaches I find at work to politicians who make my job harder

Actually it kinda sucked but thanks for asking. I hope yours was good.

Yep. Even people at work are both kind of checked out and get ready to snap at a moment's notice.

I made a joke about maple syrup and unprompted, my coworker said moving to Canada so her right to be a woman looks like the best option right now.

I'd stick with just moving to blue states and keeping in touch of politics. Obviously the Trump administration is going to attack blue states next but that should open up new avenues of counter attack when he does so.

If not a blue state, then at least a blue city.

It was a little chilly here as well but not too bad. Consistent frost on the ground which is slightly unusual here for such an extended period. But at least it was sunny.

Had lots of things to do for some activism stuff but another member of my group did a lot of it for me which was nice. Overall it was pretty good for me personally even with all the scary politics happening.

Stressful and shitty because of the new administration kicking off with a massive number of steps to run the country into the ground, a few of which affect me and my family directly. I also stress about how they will affect other people I know and don't know in negative ways.

Politics are stressful.

Moreso is the what seems to be open acceptance of Nazis.

Id love some reassurance that my community would reject them, but im not hopeful.

Thinking of making a "'brownshirts' will be shot on sight" sign.

Advertising it might be a strategic mistake. You're unlikely to scare them off with threats. You're probably just giving them useful information. You might already have, by commenting about it.

If there's anything they're gonna check your activity for, it's a couple of those words. Locals wouldn't be likely to know but the admin could concurrent decide that going through the database and making and handing out lists to precincts or local loyalists is a good idea.

Very cold, and lots of political stress. However, I did go running like four times last week, so I'm gonna try to keep that habit up and see if I can get myself into some kinda shape.

Since November 5th I've gone on a diet, been working out, quit drinking and smoking. It may only buy me a day or 2 of evading the brown shirts, but it's all I can do to keep my mental health from spiraling.

Extremely shitty. And not just bc of political, unless that bled over into other areas like making people stressed out.

With stress and cold both, it helps to exercise. And have a drink. Or maybe "helps" is too strong a word on that last one...πŸ˜›

I do hope that people practice self care though. We kinda fucking need it right now.

Chilly, but warmer than it was last weekend. Been gaming mostly.

still waiting to have something good to reply on one of these.

Witches' titties and snowman balls here.

But! The chickens are happy, my kid is happy, and that means the rest of us are too.

Shit beyond that is looking crazy, but I'm well armed, and well supplied, so it is what it is.

Cold. Work was closed for a couple days due to inclement weather, so during the abbreviated week it has been hard to stay focused and productive.

In more positive news I was recently diagnosed with ADHD, and started on atomoxetine. I’ve been on it for nearly a month, and I feel like it’s helping. Last week I was consistently having three to five hours of productivity per day, where before I was doing well to get that much in a whole week.

For me at least I feel like there’s some truth to the screencap I see floating around in adhd communities about:

My brain has two productivity modes:

  • 30 minutes of work in 3 hours
  • 3 hours of work in 30 minutes

It switches back & forth randomly and I don’t seem to have any control over it.

Cold, and I'm sick with some sort of respiratory bug. Sore throat, cough, and occasionally sputum.

Cold for sure. With MLK Day Monday and the stomach bug I had a three day week. Not too shabby. It wasn't me who had the bug.
