Granted, its to prevent overcentralization of Lemmy and not related to their shit takes, but still sicko-laser

Also because they're contributing a lot to Sublinks with the goal of migrating .world from Lemmy to Sublinks

[–] bumpusoot@hexbear.net 35 points 2 months ago (2 children)

I've yet to see anything of Sublinks that wasn't a direct copy of Lemmy, implemented in a worse language, that after almost a year, is still not documented or at all functional.

You weren’t kidding. It’s literally a clone and they haven’t changed all the verbiage yet.

“Good luck with that Java Springboot rewrite” said no one ever

[–] hypercracker@hexbear.net 15 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I didn't know anybody actually used Java Springboot by choice, I thought it was just the sort of thing that is put in recruiter spam for the most dead-end jobs imaginable

Honestly a parody of themselves. I thought it was fake when I saw it.

But it's gonna be ready any day now

it's the same astroturf bots from reddit and nobody can convince me otherwise

exclude instances with over 30% users

I wonder how much we make up, maybe like 10%

[–] sovietknuckles@hexbear.net 50 points 2 months ago (1 children)

There are 26,961 Hexbear users out of 390,404 Lemmy users, so 6.9%.

The next largest instance after .world is lemm.ee with 7.7% of all Lemmy users

I think it's less but depends how you measure. We are very active (and not totally overrun with bots, shit being mirrored from other sites, etc)

[–] GrouchyGrouse@hexbear.net 31 points 2 months ago

Can you imagine the layers of irony and theory and ironic theory and theoretical irony they'd need to get a bot to convincingly blend in here?
