Yeah it's always the same. In Utah this past week, the passed a law to disallow trans people from using public bathrooms. I mean,t here's probably TWO trans people in the whole state. Now, one of the women on our Board of Education is in trouble for harrassing a student over possibly being trans (the student isn't trans, she just thought she might be).

What the FUCK is the problem? I've never seen trans people be a threat to ANYBODY ANYWHERE - yet, white moronic privileged idiots are threatening all of us with blocking all of our basic rights to exist. It seems to me the real threat to humanity is wherever bigoted white people gather together.

What the FUCK is the problem?

They invent what they need to hate, then fox screams it. There doesn't need to be a real problem.

From the party that screams and whines about how everyone else is taking their freedoms, they sure do love to to take away everyone else's freedoms

There should be around 30,000 trans people in Utah based on general population.

[-] Serinus@lemmy.world 1 points 7 months ago

Did you account for persecution?

[-] 5714@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 7 months ago

No. I read somewhere trans people make up roughly 1% of a given population, I think that number was from a time with higher persecution, because in some places the numbers are higher AFAIK.

Lack of exposure to trans people makes it easier not to see them as human.

we aren't "normal" so their little brains must listen to the propaganda machine and aid in our erasure

little do they know the revolution will be won in thigh highs

[-] tygerprints@kbin.social 4 points 7 months ago

Hmm, I hope fishnet stockings are OK, I don't have thigh highs. I may not win the revolution, but I'll certainly redefine the word 'revolting' in a lot of people's minds.... : /

It's not just white people but I get what you mean. So much of politics is performative/culture wars. What always irks me is that behind closed doors some of them are gay or have had abortions privately or something else but they go on acting as though it's the end of the world publicly.
