Ohio is basically Florida without beaches or Disneyworld.
When the rivers catch fire do you really want a beach?
Technically there are beaches on the Lake Erie shore. Last time I checked, they were not on fire, but probably would have been improved by fire.
Not technically. There are some very nice beaches on the lake. And while they're not currently burning... they probably SHOULD be on fire because they're some of the most absurdly expensive properties in NE Ohio. Just Google images of Bay Village.
