make sure you're wearing plate armor underneath the bike gear to protect from mass shootings too
Do you have any experience in the moto world? There at mesh garments, ie summer gear, that have CE rated padding; primarily, jackets, gloves, and boots. The butt and knee padding in some moto pants might even make your ride more comfortable.
I'm not suggesting people swap their lycras for leather. Bicycle gear as a category is not roadworthy. There is suitable gear, especially in the moto gear category, that is. Especially for ebikers.
