ok so infodump time
i write exclusively with fountain pens. learning calligraphy, and teaching myself to write slower, and using a fountain pen all the time prettied up my writing.
some muscle things: don't write with your wrist, keep it stationary. when you write, try to use your shoulder muscles. believe it or not, this gives you more control over what you're writing and helps you to even out the shapes.
having a nice pen to write with that feels good is really important imo. i use fountain (with ball tip so that i can go in all directions, which is cheating, but i still trained myself to write in one direction, did things like splitting out the 'o' into two strokes due to that), but i used gel pens for a while. also i use nice notebooks that feel good to write on, that's a big plus too.
if writing feels good, it'll look good, imo.
Heyo thanks for the infodump. I'll be looking into it.
Thank you for the advice! I was never really taught good handwriting practices
This is super helpful, my cursive is pretty ^sometimes^ but often sloppy.
