This sweet plan seems to include a lot of being approved for masses of credit and hoping you can pay off your un-write-offable loans (there are an upsetting number of ways debts can't be written off). But if anyone can go bankrupt and fuck over their debtees, please do.

If an imitation parmesan is so perfect that it can only be differentiated by ultra-minituarised complex circuitry, then maybe it's time to just admit that, at least in that specific instance, parmesan is okay

I'm sure you're right, but I've not seen that to be true where I live in Europe. That makes absolutely no sense.

It's clear Jessica Ashooh has connections with powerful people and obviously works with/for government agencies, but the assertion she's directly a CIA plant is hard to prove. It doesn't really matter, it's clearly shady and fucked, so it seems a silly assertion to make.

Whether or not you hang out with the rich and powerful is 99% nepotism, c'mon now

Even "the Nazis made the trains run on time" meme is a myth, trains were few in number, expensive, and very frequently cancelled and late in Germany and Italy under fascist governments.

A concerning amount of people unironically still believe in the White Man's Burden.

Yes, thank you. Law is not the reason I haven't started a business, it's money.

C'mon, companies are already doing enough dumb shit, we gotta make up new ones?

The cost of administrating benefits, ie fact checking and means testing and complex rules etc, typically costs 1-2x as much as the benefits themselves. It's not even about saving money, it's about making sure that poor people are sufficiently screwed.

It's a collaborative effort. The Wine and Vulkan projects have all done a lot and deserved credit for doing massive, amazing things. But for Linux gaming specifically, Proton has absolutely changed the landscape, and if Valve continues down this path, will make Linux an ever better gaming platform. So I don't think it's unfair to say thanks to Valve.

Not only have they sunk significant resource into making Linux gaming more viable, they've released Proton under BSD and seriously pushed developers to make Linux-compatible binaries. If Linux continues it's slow upward trend in popularity, Valve will be in large part to thank.
