I really like Black Mirror. I watched a bunch of TV shows, started and left midway through others, but I always go back to Black Mirror. Like the creator said, it's sci-fi techno dystopia. And he is working on the 7th season. One of the episodes will be a follow up to USS Callister. Awesome!

Hey people. I have a bit of a niche situation. I use my phone with my left hand. When I hit the full screen button in YouTube or Jellyfin or any other app that can go full screen, the screen rotates to the right. So, if I rotate the phone the "natural way" for me, to the right, the image is upside down. Usually it only takes a second for the screen to rotate to the correct orientation, but sometimes it just refuses, so i have to do a weird dance with my phone (portrait-landscape-portrait-landscape).

Any idea of a way to "fix" this? I use a pixel 8, if it matters.

I tried playing a couple of times with others, it was not my thing... I personally prefer alone. I have a certain style, I like base building and hoarding, and I go for very long games, usually lasting months IRL. I put in more than 1000 hours over many years, and I never got bored of PZ :)

You can siphon gas with an empty bottle too, you no longer "need" a gas can. It holds a lot less gas, but would work in a pinch.

It works great for me. Not for my wife though, who is textbook ADHD. She reads slow, and if she matches the speed for the audiobook to her reading speed, it gets boring :) the wonders of neurodiversity :)

Same here. But with eBooks too. Sometimes my brain drifts for a while and I reread the same paragraph 5 times. So what I do is "double-dip". I listen to and read the ebook at the same time. This way my brain has no chance of escaping. This has also helped me with my English; oh, so that's how you pronounce albeit?

Pulp Fiction. Also, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. And Snatch. Also... aw man, there's so many...

I track my movie and TV show watchlists with trakt.tv. it's connected to my jellyfin and *arr stack.

I don't game so that's of no interest to me. I use Kavita/mylar3 for comic books, audiobookshelf/readarr and storygraph for audiobooks. for music I use last.fm, again connected to my jellyfin server (with symfonium as a client).

While my car was being repaired after a crash, the insurance company gave me a rental to use for the duration. The rental company only had a Land Rover Evoque (or something), and that car had the fancy led matrix lights. It was amazing! You could actually see the light being "shaped" on the road in front, going around incoming traffic, it was constantly moving. To me it was a bit distracting though...

I don't understand what this is about, but I admire the commitment, the story, the CGI. 7/10.

it's been a few quadrons for kaleun on the rim. it's a bit crowded now, 9 people and 8 mechs living in a couple of shacks... but we'll have to make due for now. she's a hard worker, sanguine, has a bunch of hobbies with no time to work on, but at least she's passionate about them :)

It's a 2% difference. The cutting and packaging is done (most probably) by machines. I have clinically diagnosed OCD, and I wouldn't care about 8g of missing pasta... How much do you leave on the plate/in the pot/throw away? :)

Otoh, hitting exactly 410g (assuming the scale is calibrated, and you have the same temperature, air moisture and altitude as the factory), is very difficult. They could adjust their machines so the variation hangs a bit more towards the customer, but for them, 2% x millions of boxes = profit.

One of the best private trackers out there. Sorry to see it go... You can read the reasons why in the link (in Romanian and English).

UPDATE: it's no longer shutting down:

We were overwhelmed by your wishes and messages!

You know that over the years, I've always said that the community has a significant voice. Your words have always mattered, and we've never been indifferent to them. Your voice has been heard, even now.

I am delighted to announce that the website will not be shutting down! Donations are now reactivated, so everything is returning back to normal.

One of the founders of the website, God, is back and will take over the technical aspect to ensure the site continues to thrive. He is trustworthy, loyal, and things will certainly go well from this point of view. However, we also needed someone to take care of the other aspects of the work. From now on, Oana will handle everything related to the staff, server payments, and all the internal matters that a SysOp does. She will get promoted to the SysOp class. She is more than capable and competent to maintain control and ensure that everything runs smooth internally. Congratulations!

Together, they will continue the necessary work to keep this website alive.

That being said, this announcement will be my last. I, EboLLa, am permanently retiring from the community. I want to personally thank you all for all the private messages and wishes you've sent me. There have been so many, and I genuinely appreciate them from the bottom of my heart. You are all wonderful, and I appreciate each and every one of you! I am and have been honored that I could contribute to your well-being! To all of you. Farewell and take care!

So let's wish Oana and God best of luck!

With love and appreciation, EboLLa
