Not OP but here you go. I work with young people and have had suicide prevention training multiple times, this is a recurring mantra that not asking about it is much worse than asking.

Is this real? It's too cute to be real isn't it?

Thank you! I didn't think of that, changed it now.

This is the second advertising post I've seen on lemmy and they were both today. I'm wondering how other people feel about it or if they've even seen posts like this?

Personally I'm livid and hate seeing it here. One of the things that attracts me to lemmy is the donation based, volunteer run, distributed, open access nature of it. I don't want it to become profit driven and I really don't want to see companies in what I belive should be a purely social endeavour. I really think making it profit driven will ruin it, if that means it stays smaller then I'm okay with that.

Now I know I can block them and move on which is what I've done. I'm also pleased to say that both posts I saw were heavily downvoted and I did my part too.

I'm curious if other people agree with me and don't want advertising like this on lemmy? Also, what do people think we can actually do about it if we don't want it around? Petition instance admins to ban advertising accounts? Then how do we define one? Can anything actually be done or do I just have to block and move on from a possibly ever increasing flow of advertising until I get bored and move on?

Sorry for the long rambling post and thanks if you read this far.

Thank you as always, I really appreciate the breakdowns and transparency. Also thank you for reminding users that you're all volunteers and actual people running this, I've seen a lot of awful entitlement recently and some really unpleasant posts

As a millennial this made me laugh far to much.

Has anyone else read this? (www.queerlit.co.uk)

I read this book years ago when it was the first edition. It really spoke to me about some feelings I thought were really personal but turned out to be fairly common.

I read it again years later and it was a good read again. It has some really useful lessons and ideas I think.

I'm really curious if anyone else has read it, particularly someone younger than 40, and what they thought about it. If you haven't read it I would recommend giving it a go if you can find it, I'm going to give it another read now it's popped into my head.

This is some fun malicious compliance! I love the touch of having an open discussion to make it clear they're following guidelines

Not when did you come out, that's a whole different story, but when did you know you were a gay bro?

I've always been excited by other guys, I remember being very young (like 7/8) and getting a bit too into the wrestling. My parents turned it off ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

I was around 13 when someone said something about 'gay' and I learned it was a whole thing. It was like a light bulb moment and a bunch of things instantly made sense. And that was it, came out to some friends not long after and that was it.

How about you guys?

I believe he did manage it, he was back on after the three days looking for tips on how to solve being constipated. What a champ.

More fashionable dogs (files.catbox.moe)

I asked for Mr Peanutbutter doing a photo shoot for Dior and got some cute results, inspired by the other user and their dog pictures.

I found this one where he has full on hands a bit disturbing

I've read that uploading all your images/gifs/videos to lemmy will cause big server costs down the line.

I wanted to do my part in keeping the costs low so which site or app or whatever do people recommend to upload your media to for linking in posts? I've tried imgur and I'm not really a fan

I don't know what this means but thanks!

Hey! ๐Ÿ‘‹ There's a setting you can toggle on your account for 'show read posts' which should stop you seeing things you've already interacted with. That might help you out ๐Ÿ‘
