Charges are insane. Like too crazy for the feds to take to court if they're just trying to defame him. Accepting luxury travel and bribes from Turkey? Like what? The mayor of New York?

That's too ridiculous to be a lie.

Yo I see this shit posted all the time. The article was written in 2008 for the UNs magazine and meant to be satire. It has since been removed by the UN for being ambiguous.

Yeah looks like we're on the same page. The person is correct about the picture but also insane. It seems like they're trying to make some kind racist statement about the south or something.

Sure, but it's still a world fair. Those buildings are temporary and made of plaster. It's not like we're discovering some grand civilization that has been usurped. It's just that fairs used to go way harder back in day.

This is some Olympics level mental gymnastics.

They're everywhere. I saw them in Hawaii and locals make fun of people that have salt life merch. I think it's a clothing brand marketed to people with boats and sport fishermen.

Not sure about other countries, but America's submarine force is volunteer. You wouldn't be forced onto a submarine.

I was on a sub and I chose it because being instantaneously crunched sounded better than starving in a life boat.

Russia is the only navy that has submarines that even compete with America's so not sure what you're talking about there. Russian submarine hulls are made out of titanium and can dive ~1000 feet deeper than the US's. In a lot of cases, they have much better submarines than we do.

Part of the reason the cold war was so scary was because of the supremecy of their submarines. Didn't you ever see The Hunt for Red October????

Also, America has lost 2 nuclear submarines to accidents, the thresher and the scorpion. The thresher was during trials after repair, and (along with the loss of the challenger space shuttle) gave rise to modern day Quality Assurance practices in engineering disciplines.

Fission doesn't happen because we cut atoms in half. Fission happens because we blast enriched uranium with neutrons, the uranium absorbs a neutron, gets too heavy, and falls apart.

I mean think about it. Atoms are surrounded by a negatively charged electron cloud. Pushing 2 atoms together would be (sorta) like trying to push the like poles of two magnets together.

A sense of humor is a survival trait for negative situations, and those who have one are usually really nice because they know how shitty things can be. That's what I came up with at least.
