There was a person who was convinced that nobody actually enjoys music or art. They said everyone is just performatively pretending to enjoy these things for some reason. Or maybe everyone is just imagining their emotional responses to music/art, like some sort of mass delusion. I don’t remember all the particulars; this was a while ago.

I have the opposite experience - the older women in my family love and dote on my partner because of how sweet he is! It’s adorable. Also a little sad because I know a lot of them weren’t treated well by their (late or ex, fortunately) husbands.

I enjoyed it a lot in a recent rewatch, but it’s definitely a “brain switched off” sort of show for me. Had fun while watching, but didn’t find much of substance to sit and think about afterward. The “world building” was really just a backdrop for the characters. But I think that’s OK sometimes. The lack of Asian characters was IMO the show’s biggest flaw.

This is completely off-topic, but I’m still OOTL on why some screenshots these days have a filter applied to make them look underwater. What’s up with that?
