The mother looks like a Karen and her kids behave like little karens.

I'll throw the first stone, yes, I've shamefully spent money on games. Mostly mobile games, where it's far worse than Roblox and World of Tanks combined. I play 8-Ball from Miniclip and they shove ad after ad after ad at you to buy chips, buy chests, buy cues .etc

They have mini-games like Lucky Shot, where you have to hit the ball into one of the targets. Doesn't matter how soft you hit it, it's a bitch to get the ball into the target zone. They have a spinning wheel for chips, it ALWAYS lands on the lower valued number. Always. Like, all of these obviously rigged tricks and scams into the game. And you finally play a game or two and you'll run into players with the best shit who'll win games over you in seconds. Because they've got the better shit. It's just hard to compete with the whales.

These mobile games like to make you feel special at first. But if you play it long enough, you will hit a wall. And when you hit that wall, it's like dealing with a constant panhandler, only in the form of this game, where they want you to pay and pay.

I am going to be very disoriented, myself. I'm gonna have to start going around just talking with some people who're probably going to be worried as hell. Especially if they're women, LGBTQ, hard working laborers .etc who know and feel like their worlds are going to be broken into pieces.

While I won't immediately leave the country, I'll just be weighing in my options going into next year about where I could possibly go. I'll probably be avoiding social media except for my circle of friends to avoid all of the celebration of the maga crowd. Probably will go on auto-pilot for a while, muting the world and having extreme contempt for America.

They've also restored the ability to play audio files, like archived old podcasts and stuff. Which is nice.

Still, fuck the people that randomly decided to harm Internet Archive. It was really on the threat of being a digitalized Burning of Alexandria moment.

Getting rid of the advocacy part. That's...not good.

So what does that mean in layman's terms? They're not going to have as much of a voice to sway heads about things like open internet, the flaws of copyright, the problems with privacy and surveillance.

We don't need the coomers here. We just don't.

This guy is the reason some 1,500 jobs were cut from Spotify, before the holidays. While Spotify CEO keeps giving this talking head fuck, multi-million dollar contracts.

And Joe has the audacity to claim he's 'self-made'. He's not self-made. The idiot just plays on people and takes advantage of an opportunity. He's an opportunist, but not self-made. The gullibility of anyone thinking he's worth anything is what made him.

It's a symbol about how far Republicans have truly fallen. Even George W. Bush could've and might've admitted defeat if he had lost the 2004 run. John McCain, respectfully has given Obama appraisal for winning over him in 2008. Mitt Romney was respectful too.

But 2020 with Trump? Throws the biggest fucking tantrum ever in the history of all elections and this country alone. By attempting a coup and an insurrection because he refused to admit that he lost.

Anti-Intellectualism, Anti-Abortion, The Ignorant .etc

Those also play roles.

And the fact that there were so few months left before the Election when Biden had to step aside. She had to work and work she did.

Granted the polls right now, least estimating, aren't looking great. I expect an upset though.

Alvin and the Chipmunks come to mind. Pure 80s show right around the time where it was already thick with lots of other cartoons of it's time and just happened to be one of the popular ones. Ended in 1990, pretty much saying that it knew the 80s was over. Released a CGI film in 2007 that somehow spanned over 4 movies. All of which, while numerically looking good at the box office, was really criticized because it was one of those film series jerked out from the era it was in and fucked over.

Popular podcast host Joe Rogan officially endorsed Donald Trump on the eve of the election, a move Trump’s team swiftly touted as a major win in the final hours of their campaign.

Wow, what a big fucking man you are...

Wonder how he'll handle jail and a court process. That's more waiting. Going to try punching the judge next? Your representing lawyer? Police officers? Dumbass.

Because it exploits how dumb the internet toy such as a karma system really is.

I like the Fediverse's handling of it. Look, I can post however much I want. Unlike Reddit, where I got to storm to AskReddit because it doesn't care about how much karma you've got, farm karma, wait for a period and then finally be able to post where I want to.

People have sadly tied their existence to this system. I mean, the higher a karma count is for someone, I've noted how much of a snobbish bastard people love to come off as. Like as if it makes them superior, regardless of the shit takes and awful arguments they project.

Karma systems invalidate thought and discussion. Do you really mean to say what you've said because you mean it? Or did you say it because you know it'll garner the most points? Quite frankly, I'd rather be saying what I want to say because some of the time, I do mean it. On Reddit, I always have had to fake myself and say stupid shit just so I can have enough points to finally post elsewhere. So many people on Reddit will say anything and do anything to make themselves feel better about themselves by phoning in thoughts, opinions and expressions. But I doubt they actually believe into half of the shit they say or do.

And when you get downvoted? Welp, be prepared to karma farm again because some subreddits will not allow you to post or just throw you into the spam filter bin because you get prompted by a 9 minute timer before you can post again. It's just an atrocious system all around that has bastardized the way people communicate with eachother. So, Fuck Reddit's Karma system, it doesn't belong here.

There's no magazine on any instance that I see of such a community on the topic matter. To anyone not familiar, a patient gamer is someone who is immune to FOMO, doesn't get caught up or tied up with current modern gaming. Someone who doesn't care that they've beaten a game from 1996 and here it is 2024. Someone who doesn't care that they're still playing games 40, 20 or even 5 years ago on the present day.

I would personally say that I am. I don't have a level of disposable income where I'm throwing down on buying games. I've spent 10 years between 2011 and 2021 wheeling and dealing on game sales. So much that I've piled on over 1,000+ games combined between GOG, Steam, Battle.net and Epic Games.

I do more often than not, play games from so long ago than I do modern games. I'm at a stage in my life where I am noticeably slowing down on gaming in general, I am also finding myself more comforted in what I play and I again can't simply just keep buying newer games. I also don't really care about buying newer games, the time of the present is rich with game sales all day, everyday.

There will always be a time later to buy a game that is ripened for a good sale. So I don't have to worry at all.

I was in a bit of a soft argument (where nobody was insulting another or being cutthroat and illogical) with a friend about something they were venting about. And we got to a part of the discussion where he admitted that he would rather be a 'robot' who wakes up, looks in the mirror, goes about their job and is 'okay' with it.

Like he didn't understand why it is that people seek so much escapism to be away from dealing with the bleak, always-gloomy mentality of work. I brought up a point that we're all essentially working our asses off to make other people's lives better than ours, those people being managers/CEOs/Executives.

And that we need our escapism to better handle it. Because that's really the reality of work as it is now and has been for essentially decades and decades. It's not that we can't accept the reality, because we already do, it's when we have to step away from our homes, spend however many hours in places we don't like being in, exhausting ourselves, stressing ourselves, spending however long in commute back and to. That's our way of accepting the reality as much as we hate it.

I respect my friend for being one of the few that can just shrug it off and go about business as usual. But, I don't like it when people look down at others and wonder "why do you play so much video games?" or "why do you just binge so many shows and movies?" .etc

...Why not? What's the alternative? Just work ourselves like "ohhh boy! I can't wait to get all of these bills in the mail, both electronically and physically! oh boy!". As well as just get excited for yet another drawn out workday where some of us fear for our jobs?

That's not how things should be, to me. It never should've been like this.

My job at wal-mart has been fluctuating and bipolar that it's making me want to potentially seek out other jobs. I've acquired a few certifications with them that enables me to operate some of their machines like electric pallet jack, sit-down forklift, a walking stacker .etc

Unbeknownst to me, I am not allowed to carry these certifications outside Wal-Mart to use. But I know I can at least mention on my resume that I am capable of using these machines.

How would I word this on my resume?

When it comes to dealing with advertisements when they're surfing on their browsers. I've just learned recently about how Google has or is killing UBlock Origin on the Chrome browser as well as all Chromium based browsers too.

We've heard for years about people complaining, bitching, whining and vice versa about how they keep seeing ads. And those trying to help them, keep wasting time to tell these people that they're surfing without extensions. Whether it'd be on Chrome or Firefox or another browser.

By this point, I've long stopped being that helper because if you cared at all about the advertisements you see, you would've long had gotten on the wagon of getting adblockers by now. You bring this onto yourself.

The US Copyright Office has denied a request to allow remote access to out-of-print video games, a decision that impacts video game preservation efforts. The request, supported by the Video Game History Foundation and the Software Preservation Network, aimed to let libraries and archives digitally share these games with researchers. However, the Copyright Office ruled against it, citing potential market harm and copyright concerns.Key PointsDenial of Exemption: The request sought an exemption under the DMCA to enable remote access to preserved games. The Copyright Office found that proponents did not sufficiently demonstrate that such uses would be noninfringing or fair.Opposition
