He was literally the one in power when Roe was overturned. It's like the US gives you two fantasy lands to live in and you're treated like the problem when you point out reality.

[–] BlueMagaChud@hexbear.net 45 points 1 year ago

true, the worst crime in this country is breaking kayfabe

[–] Magician@hexbear.net 40 points 1 year ago

He's going to bring back what he allowed to be taken away? It's not like he's going to get more powerful the older he gets.

[–] Finger@hexbear.net 24 points 1 year ago

no more half measures walter

[–] SacredExcrement@hexbear.net 14 points 1 year ago

Just because he was in power when Roe got overturned and has for almost all his life been against abortion except in the most extreme of cases, that doesn't mean he won't re-institute it

[–] Infamousblt@hexbear.net 86 points 1 year ago (3 children)

You're bringing Roe back next term, Joe?

Why not do it this term? Why are you holding women's bodies hostage for your election?

[–] duderium@hexbear.net 54 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (2 children)

Because the president can’t actually do anything sweatie, why don’t you retake civics 101? Don’t you remember Biden’s famous 2020 campaign slogan: “I can’t do anything [except arm Ukrainian Nazis, attempt to start WW3 with Russia and China, sign oil drilling permits during climate apocalypse, undo all covid protections (except for the ones which protect me), and shrug as the right undoes Roe and Affirmative Action and god knows what else].”

[–] buckykat@hexbear.net 32 points 1 year ago (1 children)

The powers of the US president are whatever that president feels like they are.

[–] duderium@hexbear.net 30 points 1 year ago (1 children)

When in the Course of human events it becomes necessary for the presidency to be based entirely on vibes…

[–] buckykat@hexbear.net 25 points 1 year ago

The presidency has always been just vibes

[–] Finger@hexbear.net 28 points 1 year ago

no more half measures walter

[–] Fuckass@hexbear.net 17 points 1 year ago

Abortion is basically the democrats’ equivalent of anti gun control. Just keep dragging your base along to make them think you’re doing something, and maybe you’ll achieve something along the the way. The difference is that guns will never be banned in meaningful ways, while abortion can get you watched by the Texan Gestapo

[–] culpritus@hexbear.net 56 points 1 year ago

US politics is like a TV show where anything progressive gets undone by the end of every episode.

porky-happy Oh no the proles might just win this time, just kidding.

biden-point Nothing will fundamentally change.

[–] GottiGoFast@hexbear.net 50 points 1 year ago (1 children)

vote Vote you useless pieces of shit. Vote hard. Vote harder than you ever did in your entire life. Vote like how edgers cum.

[–] buckykat@hexbear.net 22 points 1 year ago

Standing in the voting booth for six hours filling out the ballot but never actually voting.

[–] Sickos@hexbear.net 41 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Wait, there's a debate already? No this is too soon. This is like Christmas shit showing up in a store in september

[–] Adkml@hexbear.net 46 points 1 year ago (2 children)

There's a "debate" between 8 people who are polling at 15% combined.

It's as relevant as if you asked the dining room of a random restaurant what they would do if they were president.

There might be some entertainment in watching people refuse to criticize the person they're campaigning against but I'm not wasting hours of my life to watch republicans be hypocrites.

[–] Sickos@hexbear.net 36 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Wait, it's WITHOUT TRUMP!? OMG. God damn he literally cannot lose.

[–] Adkml@hexbear.net 33 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Yea Trump I think is doing an interview with tucker at the same time and then turning himself in tomorrow to su k the wind out of any news from the debate lmao.

[–] buckykat@hexbear.net 20 points 1 year ago (3 children)

What if he just doesn't turn himself in? Possibly an even bigger story as everyone freaks out about norms.

[–] HornyOnMain@hexbear.net 22 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

I am praying to God on the 0.0000001% chance that he defects to North Korea at the last minute

[–] buckykat@hexbear.net 26 points 1 year ago (1 children)

boring: Trump running from prison

funny: Trump running from the Ryugyong Hotel

[–] Magician@hexbear.net 7 points 1 year ago

I'll have an OJ Simpson style police chase please.

[–] heartheartbreak@hexbear.net 21 points 1 year ago

I'm 💯% convinced that every opposition candidate to trump including meatboy is a stooge to make him look better

[–] PolPotPie@hexbear.net 35 points 1 year ago

joe means it. unfortunately, he misspoke. what joe means is he's bringing "sears roebuck"

[–] btfod@hexbear.net 34 points 1 year ago

love our vibes-based political economy. vibearchy. vibeocracy.

I don't support the vibelicans, the vibeocrats are much more to my liking.

[–] Ram_The_Manparts@hexbear.net 31 points 1 year ago (3 children)

Reminder that Sleepy Joe is a self-described "devout catholic"

Now remind me how catholics feel about abortion

[–] Fuckass@hexbear.net 22 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Remember when Nancy Pelsoi was banned from her church when she advocated for abortion rights… AFTER it was overturned? And instead of rallying her base, calling for protests, or doing anything political, she did an epic girl boss move and wasted money to go to the Vatican and get communion from the pope. We love our productive politicians, don’t we folks?

[–] buckykat@hexbear.net 14 points 1 year ago

Folks, the papist menace

[–] zifnab25@hexbear.net 8 points 1 year ago (1 children)

The overwhelming majority of lay catholics are pro-choice.

[–] Fuckass@hexbear.net 14 points 1 year ago (1 children)

They’ll still support an institution that cries about it

[–] zifnab25@hexbear.net 7 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

They'll support a local venue that hosts religious festivals and ceremonies, regardless of the leadership's position on a single hot-button topic.

Its the same way that they support the venue when the institution opposes the death penalty or advocates in favor of open borders and refugee resettlement or debt forgiveness or civil rights for native peoples. I only fucking wish lay Catholics were fully on board with the stated mission of the Catholic Church. Hell, I wish the majority-Catholic SCOTUS was as doctrinaire as your average priest. The US would be a significantly better place.

At this point, I'd take a Catholic Church overhaul of the Texas juvenille justice system on the grounds of lesser evil. At least the Catholics would install some new AC units and improve the food quality in the child-rape-centers the state is running.

[–] buckykat@hexbear.net 3 points 1 year ago

Catholics installing new AC units so their priests can be comfy while they rape the kids

[–] catonearth@hexbear.net 29 points 1 year ago (1 children)

that sub always gave me strong astroturfed vibes

[–] bigboopballs@hexbear.net 20 points 1 year ago

the entire website is astroturfed

[–] InevitableSwing@hexbear.net 26 points 1 year ago

Memes were a mistake. Libs can claim that memes are just as good as legislation.

[–] kristina@hexbear.net 24 points 1 year ago

hes paying fox news to anger their base and come out against them? very special

[–] Fuckass@hexbear.net 24 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

I like how 90% of “BlackPeopleTwitter” is just jokes and memes or references and discussions to black culture, and 90% of “WhitePeopleTwitter” is just complaining about Trump and being easily impressed by other old, powerful white people (aka white American culture)

[–] GottiGoFast@hexbear.net 7 points 1 year ago

Cracker culture kinda sucks tbh

The sub was doomed from the start.

[–] duderium@hexbear.net 23 points 1 year ago

Undermining Fox News by paying them shitloads of money to display ads that will win them exactly 0 votes. Bidenomics, baby.

[–] zifnab25@hexbear.net 21 points 1 year ago (1 children)

So, the plan is to hand FOX News a bunch of Democrat donor dollars in order to stir up anti-abortion sentiment among the Republican base, because... ???

[–] Fuckass@hexbear.net 19 points 1 year ago (1 children)

This isn’t the first time they’ve done this. Last time they gave a bunch of money to QAnon political candidates over their own party candidates, and some of them won.

[–] Adkml@hexbear.net 11 points 1 year ago

Don't forget giving money to the Lincoln project that literally used the money to fund political ads against their darling liberal candidates.

[–] ThisMachineKillsFascists@hexbear.net 18 points 1 year ago (1 children)

No you fucking won't, Joe.

[–] Adkml@hexbear.net 13 points 1 year ago

No for real this time you gotta vote for em bro, seriously I know they've said this for every electiin for 2 decades and they didn't do anything multiple times when they had the opportunity and then it got repealed on their watch after they said you have to vote for them so it won't go away but I swear to God bro for real this time bro just vote for them one more time for sure.

[–] NotErisma@hexbear.net 14 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)
