Funny, because it irks me to no end to try and look up non-alcoholic drinks that arent sweet sodas for big babies and getting told I should make a "mocktail."

Frankly we ought to reorient the terms "drink" and "drinking" away from alcoholic shit.

You can get some pretty nice ginger beers that aren't very sweet, though I agree that it would be nice for there to be more non-alcoholic non-pop drink options. Sparkling water and a slice of lemon is my go-to in summer

frickin love a spicy ginger beer

Cock n Bull is pretty widely available iirc

My favorite is Bundaberg but it's Ozzie and hard to come by around here.

Honestly, non-alcoholic beer has really gotten good over the last few years

[–] Tankiedesantski@hexbear.net 7 points 6 months ago

Kvass is rad. Ranges in taste from non-alcoholic beer to rye bread to a sweet roll.

Ive been mixing one part unsweetened tea with two parts strawberry lemonade with some chopped up strawberries or any berries added. Then I add ice and shake it up real good in a shaker and it comes out deliciously frothy.

More places should have Malta India. Its like if cornflakes was soda.

Is Kelly the wife-avoiding regular or the fed up alcohol enthusiast? thonk

[–] joaomarrom@hexbear.net 19 points 6 months ago (3 children)

based nixologist

I haven't had a single drink since last September, I honestly thought it would be harder to socialize with friends but it really isn't... dates are pretty much done for, though

[–] Xx_Aru_xX@hexbear.net 21 points 6 months ago (1 children)

dates are pretty much done for, though

?

[–] joaomarrom@hexbear.net 14 points 6 months ago (1 children)

these might be a good replacement, especially now that I have calories to spare from the alcohol I no longer drink

[–] Xx_Aru_xX@hexbear.net 12 points 6 months ago

They're good, you should also try Date honey

[–] Diuretic_Materialism@hexbear.net 2 points 6 months ago

Last time I got laid we went to an Indian restaurant and didn't have any booze.

I drink tho lol.

"Some Millenial" looking old sadness

The idea of a bar that only serves non alcoholic drinks is interesting. But really isn't that just a juice bar?

I’ve been trying to understand where Kelly actually stands on issues. Some of the comics go hard unironically, but I can’t help but cringe still.

What are they trying to say here? Is it a shot at millennials or a shot at the boomers blaming millennials?

[–] barrbaric@hexbear.net 7 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Stan Kelly is a fictional artist who is meant to be a parody of a boomer, so the comic itself is meant to read as a boomer taking a shot at millennials, but is in reality a millennial taking a shot at boomers.

The actual author, Ward Sutton, is a Blue MAGA liberal, which is extremely disappointing..

Aaaaah okay, yeah sometimes it seems a little too thick, like SNL thick. Which makes sense cuz he is an onion lib.

Thanks for the clarification.

some day, we'll replace every bar in america with cooperative juice bars / weed dispensaries

[–] viva_la_juche@hexbear.net 7 points 6 months ago

Nothing a flask won’t solve shrug-outta-hecks

[–] Acute_Engles@hexbear.net 6 points 6 months ago

I basically only drink on new years eve or like weddings and I've had a fair share of virgin drinks but why get an overpriced mocktail instead of just a slurpee or one of those pre mix bottles?

[–] SorosFootSoldier@hexbear.net 6 points 6 months ago

Lady Liberty hitting the bottle hard lately.
