So long, Gary Bowser!
Crazy that he was on a plane to Canada but they had to make a refuelling stop in New Jersey and got arrested there
Wasn't he mostly just marketing
To top it off, I think the group in general was adding anti-piracy measures that could brick your Switch. So, it's fine to pirate Nintendo stuff, but you can't pirate the pirate's stuff.
(I might be thinking of the DS cartridge group but I think this one did too)
It was the dongle they made that had it. It stole parts of Atmosphere's code to run their custom SX OS and if you tried to reverse engineer it it would brick your console upon putting it back in.
Most DS flashcarts had time bombs that would make them stop working after 2 years, though I think the one on the 3DS also had a prevention that would brick your console as well but I'm not sure
Absolut legend.
Reads like a fluff piece.
Didn't even notice the brief AI disclaimer at the end until @Jiberish remarked about it! The piece is about 200% longer than it needs to be.
TL;DR: guy willfully violates copyright commercially for years, moves to Dominican Republic in the hopes the government won't follow him there... They do. The end.
I definitely consider that man a martyr in the war on piracy, a martyr for our side and not the other side.
