Proselytize Religion
From Reddit
As a community with an interest in providing the best resources to its members, the following wiki links are provided as historical reference until we can establish our own.
Thanks for the link. Am atheist and scored 11/15. Missed Q8, 9, 11, and 14.
Same. I missed 2, 5, 9, and 11.
14/15.... I guess I understand that these things might not be common knowledge, but scoring less than 10 is more troubleling than I originally thought the article was.
I’m an atheist and just missed the noble truths question, but my first instinct was the correct answer. I just second guessed myself.
Great quiz. Got 12 of 15, missed Qs 9, 11, 14.
15/15 here. The only truly hard to know bits were the Sabbath starting on Friday, which requires one to know how religious Jews count days, and that Sikh wear the funny hats, because most people think of the guys from Star Wars when you mention the name.
Interesting to note:
-
Out of Christianity-related questions, only Evangelicals score higher than atheists.
-
Both in total questions and questions about other world religions, only Jewish score higher than atheists.
It would be interesting to break down atheists and agnostics by the religion they grew up around, if any.
I would imagine that a high proportion of atheists had some experience of religion as a child.
Me, I was raised Catholic, which certainly helped me score highly in the quiz.
I, too, was raised catholic! I never believed. Never "felt the spirit", as the delusional like to say. None of it. I just had to go through the motions because of my family. Then in high-school I became interested in pagan things (go figure!) and mysticism, which caused me to study all religions, and really blossomed when I started on my psychonaut journey several years later. It wasn't just studying religion, but the drugs that really helped me to see that the answer can only be that it's all bullshit, made-up fairy tales, and no divinity exists, except maybe as a metaphor within ourselves and a tool to work through the mess that is our own psyche, if we are even able to handle doing so. Not saying I don't enjoy a good fairy tale, but it's just metaphors and pretty imagery. If you really think any of that shit is real, you're delusional.
💀
10/15 here, missed a couple of the Hindu and Judaism related questions. In my defense neither of those religions is present in my corner of the world
Agnostic - 13/15, which is better than I expected. The questions were mostly very easy though.
Atheist for 12 years and got 13/15. Kinda surprised since I haven't really consumed biblical information for over ten years.
I’m atheist in no small part because of religious indoctrination as a child. It was all a pile of horseshit to me and when I came into my own, I left it in the trash, where it belongs. Edit: I got 13/15 right.
It's logical, really.
- Unaligned don't care.
- Religious don't need the specifics, they rely on their faith, or are satisfied with what some powerhungry pedophile told them.
- Atheists search for every tiny contradiction, to get an argument in possible discussion.

I know that my interest in the historical aspects of religious teachings (mostly christianity) comes from there, though not to argue anything. I gave that up a few years ago. Now it's just curiosity about a thing that has too much influence over our lives. Still got 13/15. I'm sure I know more about what can be learned from Wikipedia about the bible than most Sunday-church-going christians. But hey, I also know more about the study of evolution than most people because I once had a roommate who believed that the earth was 5000 years old (we had very interesting debates all summer).
Get god out of US politics, people.
Lord's name and politics should never come hand in hand.
But, unfortunately, the more ogranized and numerous the religion, the less a spiritual purpose it serves and more a political agenda. No religion is free of this thirst of power, unfortunately.

The irony of coming here and maybe trying to start an argument... Also I can't recall the last time I've had a christian actually try to discuss anything vaguely religious with me. Mostly, they just speak in macros as I shuffle and try to get away.
Fret not, if I were to start an argument, there would be a flamewar in progress already.
I'm providing my observation 's all. Interestingly enough, the same rule apply to more than religious texts, but it's not the place for such a discussion.
