Meanwhile I paid TurboTax $120 to file my taxes. Lobbyists are absolutely making this more expensive and complicated than it needs to be.
Switch to FreeTaxUSA. The name makes it sound shady as all get out, but it's legit, easier than TurboTax, and cheaper. Free to file federal and $15 for state. I gave it a try this year and will not be going back
Do they allow free state filing now too? I'm in one of those states and I use FTU, but I haven't filed yet.
