Already got the Masters of the Air on my watch list, but what else is worthy of my time?

*I've finished Ted Lasso already

Silo was amazing! I loved the books and they did a great job adapting them.

Big fan of those books so I'll definitely put this at the top of my list. Seems like a pretty fantastic cast as well.

Apart from Common being the weakest actor and Rebecca Ferguson’s accent jumping around, it’s a pretty good show. Would recommend as well.

If you like to choke on plot holes sure . Couldn't get past episode 2.

For all Mankind

What kind of genres are you into? It'd help narrow down recommendations.

I'm a big fan of For All Mankind. It's an alt-history scifi series from Ronald D. Moore (Battlestar Galactica, 2003). The fourth season just concluded last month too, so it'll keep you occupied for awhile.

Loved BSG back in the day so I could definitely go for more of that.

Slow Horses is great, featuring Gary Oldman as a flatulent spymaster in charge of MI-5's rejects.

Monarch is pretty good, if you like the MonsterVerse Godzilla movies.

Mythic Quest!

I laughed my ass off and then immediately restarted the whole series.

Silo and Severance

Fraggle Rock if u wanna go old school.

Otherwise, depends on what genres you are into: there’s a bit of everything for everyone there.

Pepperjack loves Fraggle Rock

[–] Uglyhead@lemmy.world 2 points 8 months ago

PepperyJack does. Reds favorite

There’s an incredible amount of content out there. The best of the best would include Ted Lasso and the Morning Show. The only thing I’d recommend is googling a show if it’s most recent season isn’t current. It’s tough to get really into a show and having it end in a cliffhanger.

[–] Oneeightnine@feddit.uk 4 points 8 months ago (1 children)

I found Lasso season three to be a pretty sizable drop in quality from what came before. Season two was arguably one of the seasons of comedic TV I've ever seen and three, well it didn't come close to those highs.

Morning show is not that great. Excellent cast, but a ridiculous soap opera.

  • Blackbird.
  • Hijack.
  • Masters of air.
  • The crowded room.

Trigger warning for Blackbird; it is a true story and it is (very) disturbing.

Constellation just started and is their latest SciFi show. I haven't tried it yet, but looks interesting.

[–] reddig33@lemmy.world 2 points 8 months ago (1 children)

So far it’s not that great (three episodes in). Gotta love the plot hole where one person immediately runs out of oxygen when the power goes out. Not like a giant space station would be full of air that she could breathe for at least fifteen minutes or more.

[–] Shadow@lemmy.ca 1 points 8 months ago

Damn, that's disappointing to hear. I was looking forward to it since all the apple shows I've tried have had generally good writing so far.

[–] JackGreenEarth@lemm.ee -3 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Why would you even buy it if you didn't have a specific thing in mind to use it to watch?

Two months free baby!
