The vast majority of convictions occur at the state level.

Is it universal in the world, for governements and politics to have the weed'card in hand to gain popularity (cf biden and Gaza, students loans etc)

Yes, I believe it is universal for politicians to try to do things for their constituents in an attempt to get elected.

That's like literally their job.

That should have been done the second it was legalised (don't get me started on before then and who these laws were written to target in the first place), waiting this long is nothing to be proud of, it's bare minimum shit..

You do realize that it's not actually legal Federally, right?

And due to anti-drug treaties we have with other nations, it may be a good long while before it's even possible to make it legal Federally.

Marijuana is still classified as a schedule 1 drug and remains federally illegal.

There are bills to reschedule or deschedule it every year, every one so far has failed. As of today, marijuana is federally illegal, thus any federal criminal charges stand unless otherwise pardoned/commuted.

Federal agencies have been asked to reduce their amount of arrests for simple, nonviolent possession, but there's still plenty of people getting freshly charged at both the federal and state level today.
