I really do wish reversing the polarity worked like that. lol

AC broken? No problemo! Just reverse the polarity on the oven.

There are reversible heat pumps for home heating and cooling. They're like science magic.

[–] samus12345@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

Any sufficiently advanced magic is indistinguishable from science.

Gotta say, it was delightful to see the range on Matt Smith. He can go all cheeky and charismatic as the The Doctor, then to being creepy as hell on HOTD. He's freaking great!

Or his faint threatening smile like here

And the anger here. Extra creepy

Exactly! If you want to see him be reeaally eerie, check out Last Night in Soho, by Edgar Wright.

Heard it got middling reviews, but then it does have Smith. Can't be any worse than Morbin' Time.

It's not an absolute masterpiece like some of his comedies, but it was still enjoyable in my opinion. It's basically Edgar Wright tries out psychological horror. I just wanted to watch Matt try out being fuckin creepy and got exactly that.

It was... Tenant, in the Fright Night remake, right? My subconscious doesn't believe me that they're not really interchangeable.

Just a shame that none of his stories made any sense because of poor planning/retcon, but Matt Smith was brilliant as the Doctor.

Better shoot it with a tachyon beam too. Just in case.

“I’m reversing it, and you’re reversing it back… We’re confusing the polarity!”

I'm not so versed in Doctor Who, but weren't/aren't there more doctors?

[–] dangblingus@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 1 year ago

Like most of Doctor Who...just go with it.

[–] Honytawk@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 year ago

There used to be, now there is only one.

One with many faces.

You need to watch it to get it.

Last I saw we were on 13, wasn't the biggest fan of her. But I didn't like 11 at first either

Yes, but it's complicated. The most recent incarnation is called the 13th Doctor, but there was also one between 8 and 9 called the War Doctor, so the current one is technically the 14th Doctor, and the one that will be called the 14th Doctor will be the same as the 10th.

Jesus they gone through two Doctors since Capaldi?

[–] samus12345@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

No, I messed up and added 2 to the count. I'll fix it!
