I've said it before and I'll say it again but these are the drivers that are calling you a tankie online. The people driving literal fucking tanks

[–] BeamBrain@hexbear.net 46 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

Actually, I think the people that drive these tend to be too-far right to even know what a tankie is. The people calling you tankie probably drive, like, Priuses.

[–] Frogmanfromlake@hexbear.net 19 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

The people driving these cars are more likely to call you an f-slur.

Work as a mechanic and these guys are always the type to have right-wing bumper stickers and make their politics known to everyone.

[–] eldoom@lemm.ee 21 points 1 year ago (1 children)

The one thing that I learned as a meth addict several years ago was that the likelihood of there being a gun in the vehicle and the vehicle being unlocked goes up rapidly and exponentially with every right wing sticker.

Those stickers literally make them targets for car prowlers.

On the other hand, it's good to know where to get what we in the business call "an offensive handgun" if you need one in a hurry.

There's one of these in my neighborhood and it deserves 🔻

[–] corgiwithalaptop@hexbear.net 45 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Soon the smallest car you'll be able to get will be a whole full size RV

[–] umbrella@lemmy.ml 5 points 1 year ago

It's worse because I doubt you would be able to live somewhat comfortably in one of these, while taking up the space of an actual RV. I just can't wrap my head around this type of car.

[–] tripartitegraph@hexbear.net 39 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I'm almost impressed with how absurd and ugly this is

[–] Adkml@hexbear.net 29 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

They took the worst aspects of an 18 wheeler and a pickup truck and combined them at the expense of literally every single benefit.

I mean fuck you could have a basically pre built truck camper on that platform that would somehow look better and have better aerodynamics.

[–] Cummunism@hexbear.net 38 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

truck dudes are like "im a badass but also I need room for my 3 kids but god forbid i drive something that doesnt have a truckbed so i can larp as someone who uses a truckbed."

[–] Rom@hexbear.net 36 points 1 year ago

Reminds me of some old robot chicken sketch where some stupidly rich kid is showing off his stuff. He gets to his solid gold truck and says it gets "13 feet per tank of gas".

[–] WIIHAPPYFEW@hexbear.net 32 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Legalize pedestrian use of antitank rifles

[–] Tankiedesantski@hexbear.net 19 points 1 year ago

Concealed carry self defense anti-tank mines.

[–] anonochronomus@hexbear.net 6 points 1 year ago

I'm grinning ear to ear thinking what a round of armor piercing incendiary 20mm would do to those exposed gas tanks.

...Park that BIG MAC TRUCK. Right in this little garage...

Using a stepstool to enter my School Bus Crushing Machine

[–] TheCaconym@hexbear.net 22 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Remember folks, always pack some dry lentils for when you randomly encounter a SUV. Or, you know, whatever that monstrosity is.

[–] sisatici@hexbear.net 6 points 1 year ago (1 children)

We should stop giving a shit about it and just say their models are "compensator"

[–] Dingus_Khan@hexbear.net 7 points 1 year ago (1 children)
[–] wtypstanaccount04@hexbear.net 4 points 1 year ago

Unironically that's exactly what these big trucks are for in many cases

[–] heartheartbreak@hexbear.net 20 points 1 year ago

Is the market made of children?

[–] EmmaGoldman@hexbear.net 19 points 1 year ago

There is a semi truck manufacturer called MAN so clearly this will be the real choice of alpha males

[–] xi_simping@hexbear.net 19 points 1 year ago

what the fuck

god what an awful truck.

I remember many years ago my mom had a black Toyota, it was half as tall as this thing and had more usable bed space.

[–] Catradora_Stalinism@hexbear.net 14 points 1 year ago

What the actual fuck is that

[–] Frogmanfromlake@hexbear.net 14 points 1 year ago

People really love to accelerate climate change and then complain about it when it comes back to bite them.

[–] CTHlurker@hexbear.net 14 points 1 year ago (3 children)

Does anyone know the model of this truck? I want to bully a swedish coworker if it is indeed a Scania (guy is pretty outspoken about american cars being "stupid and for stupid people")

[–] Barabas@hexbear.net 6 points 1 year ago

It isn't a Scania at least.

[–] RNAi@hexbear.net 6 points 1 year ago (1 children)
[–] TheCaconym@hexbear.net 9 points 1 year ago (1 children)

He is, but the point is that Scania is a Swedish auto manufacturer

[–] RNAi@hexbear.net 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)
[–] CTHlurker@hexbear.net 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I legitmately thought your title was implying that the "truck" in this picture was a Scania, hence my comment. Thats why I wanted to know the model of it. I just reread your post and realized that you meant these trucks in general look like Euro-trucks like Scania. Anyway thats what I get for posting while working.

[–] RNAi@hexbear.net 4 points 1 year ago

I just thought "to make the joke work insert brand of trucks (the big transporting ones) that only makes trucks" -> Scania

[–] Confound4082@lemmy.ml 5 points 1 year ago

About 90% certain it's a freightliner M2 106

[–] lntl@lemmy.ml 14 points 1 year ago

Let's tax some chickens and stop this madness

[–] milistanaccount09@hexbear.net 12 points 1 year ago

lol Clearly a delivery truck with a stupid truck bed.

[–] VILenin@hexbear.net 11 points 1 year ago (1 children)

How soon before chuds just start attaching engines to their houses?

[–] RNAi@hexbear.net 3 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

I wouldn't mind if they converted to "german retiree touring southamerica in one of those massive Unimog/Mercedez Benz 4x4 camper trucks" those things have great visibility

the mcmainsion of trucks

[–] NotErisma@hexbear.net 7 points 1 year ago (1 children)

That's an International MXT truck.

I can't believe I know what that truck is.

[–] Confound4082@lemmy.ml 6 points 1 year ago

It looks similar, but the mxt has a more squared off cab.

I think this is a freightliner M2 106
