trakt.tv could be a good web-based solution. It wouldn't have the same integrations as the likes of Overseerr or Jellyseerr though, which would expect to be paired with Plex/Jellyfin and the *arr stack.

There's a Jellyfin plugin for trakt.
True, I guess I was thinking more in terms of "media acquisition" when I meant integrations 😉
Digital or physical copies? For digital ones I would recommend something like trakt where you can mark movies as 'collected'.
For physical media I would recommend a database which distinguishes between the multilple releases of the same movie. Often there are big differences from one release to another, like lord of the rings colorgrading or star wars special effects retouching etc.
I know only one website which does this well and its in German, see the heading 'Fassungen':
https://www.ofdb.de/film/154,Matrix/
I bet there are similar websites in english though.
Oh and definitive Letterboxd! Its a must for every film fan.
You have a watchlist, can mark movies as watched, rate movies, can write reviews, discover reviews follow people, see what those people have watched recently and discover super intersting lists.
Definetly the best website/app for every film fan.
I use Trakt because it plays well with Kodi but I'd like a Fediverse alternative to it or IMDb and it should be doable based on BookWyrm.
