Big brain tech dude got yet another clueless take over at HackerNews etc? Here's the place to vent. Orange site, VC foolishness, all welcome.

Without fail, there's no group of people more obnoxious and more politically illiterate, and yet they seem to believe they have all the solutions to politics simply because they're techbros.

I'm talking the descendants of Peter Thiel, I'm talking every programmer who goes on /pol/, or I don't know, /r/anarchy or some shit like that.

As a programmer I have to agree 😬

Kind of weird to see someone count programmers towards techbros. To me, techbros were always folks who didn't really understand what they're talking about, including their own field.

not all programmers are techbros, but boy howdy fuck the worst programmers I’ve worked with all were

Pessimistically,
I feel TechBroism is a brand of positivism that will never die, more than one of its brethren is already trying to cast themselves as would-be alchemist promising gold from lead through the arcane uses of AI: "You just need the right prompt."

VCs fear GPT-x because they'll be first to be replaced with a very small shell script

Trading stocks has been very successfully done by computers for ages now, yet somehow investment bankers still exist.

I'm not holding my breath for the capitalist class to automate themselves away.
