womens sufferage sucks

women suffer so much because of too much responsibility so maybe we shouldnt give them any and just give them a small monthly allowance of $5000 thats one idea lets talk about some more

husbands votes could just count as 2

although my wife was reading over my shoulder and hit me just now over that idea so maybe not lets move on okay

promise youre not pmsing

we have to know whether people are serious or not so there could be a check box for whether youre pmsing and if you are then your vote doesnt count and everyone knows pmsers physically cant lie because
1) their dopamine is too low to get a reward from it and
2) the low serotonin production reduces risktaking behaviors
however the associated drop in acetylcholine is associated with reduced inhibitory control so maybe everyone should be given an acetylcholine shot before voting

the typical female brain is a delicate flower

voting is too taxing for a brain that hasnt been made rigid and overflowing with juices by a hefty amount of testosterone and everyone knows taxes are bad so we should make work and voting optional for people with delicate estrogenbased brains and mandatory for everyone else and borrow a little bit of money from every man in the country to give them a monthly stipend to keep them from trying to vote but if they vote they lose their stipend or maybe they can elect to get punched instead but keep the stipend idk im still working out the details

there's only so much we CAN talk about and hold sentient discussion over, Trump is flooding the field, there's no society on earth which can handle as many changes that are being made at the moment, the amount of things being broken that can in no way be easily fixed for decades are beyond listing

[–] Sergio@slrpnk.net 14 points 1 week ago (2 children)

So to break the USA, all someone had to do was: a lot of things at once? That's it? It was that easy?

[–] shoulderoforion@fedia.io 19 points 1 week ago (1 children)

yes, the united states system of government, in fact all democratic systems of government depend on a social compact between the government and it's people that all law depends on for it's function, there is also implicit trust built into the protocols of state which must be honored in order for the system to function. when all organs of state are being attacked by the state itself, it stops functioning. this is especially true in a constitutional democracy. this is what's happening in the united states at the moment, the body politic is fracturing, the organs of state are shutting down.

You know what the problem is? we need more pictures of Jesus standing in front of an American flag with an AK, but instead of just having 6 fingers on each hand Jesus should also have a whole lot of arms like those Indian Gods. That way we get used to thinking about lots of different things at the same time.

think of the united states government as a series of knots, knots that have been tied together in a ball, in successive levels each covering the next, over the past 249 years. these knots are not being untied, in a measured and serious process, they are being sliced through with a razor, which is unraveling the entire mass all at once.

Structurally, yes.

EO's create chaos instantaneously where the judiciary, while it can and is fixing them, takes time. The upside is that Trump is a bit of a bitch and we've seen that when his EO's are challenged he's generally willing to back down, like with the funding freeze.

It is encouraging to see the judiciary acting to curb the worst of it, like the funding freeze and his unconstitutional bid to ban birthright citizenship. (One of the few things that is abundantly clear and legal under the US Constitution that he's trying to ban.) This isn't unlike how the judiciary was pivotal in reversing his unilateral Muslim ban years ago.

The downside is that EO's and the reactionary media move more quickly than the judiciary, so things take time to fix and there are many, many stupid voices out there fomenting discord.

This is how we get flat earthers.

[–] thefartographer@lemm.ee 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Well, I'm gonna take a stab at guessing what that means...

Thank you fartographer, ejecting with my caca

Little bit tmi and seems like an awfully fatal feat, but you're welcome?

[–] ChadMcTruth@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

hbihtaydrtr but i like the creativity

[–] thefartographer@lemm.ee 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Now that one I get!

- Quickly sneaks away before anyone realizes I didn't get it -

[–] ChadMcTruth@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

that stands for hey buddy i have to assume you didnt read the rules

[–] thefartographer@lemm.ee 2 points 1 week ago

That's a really accurate assumption! In my defense, it's way cooler to publicly react while uninformed.

Reading? The way we're behaving, we don't need... Reading.

How would this be able to override the 19th and 26th amendments?

[–] ChadMcTruth@lemmy.world 10 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

all things are possible through christ and we cant really be sure what team Hes on

[–] Sergio@slrpnk.net 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

wat? Christ is on America's team. Everybody knows that.

[–] ChadMcTruth@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

yeah obviously but does that mean hes team whoevers president right now or what

[–] Sergio@slrpnk.net 4 points 1 week ago

what is this, one of those "ironic tuesday" comments? America! America! America! Go outside, breathe in the air, screech like an eagle, and scream: AMERICA! That's the side that Jesus is on!

[–] njm1314@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Who's going to stop them? Who's going to enforce those amendments?

[–] ChadMcTruth@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

christ might do it but were not sure whose side Hes on

[–] FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world 0 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

The judiciary (including SCOTUS) and the states. The US Constitution is abundantly clear on the legalities here. The judiciary has already blocked several of his unconstitutional power grabs. (Funding freeze, birthright citizenship, Treasury Dept incursion, etc.)

It's not like Trump is going to invade New York and California. He's not a strong man. He just talks a big game until someone gets in his face.

Adding to your satirical list:

Legislate American Births Into Action

We want to thank you for your service to our country, and what better way to do that than help with those big blue balls of yours? With the LABIA act, we intend to extend the jurisdiction of the Baker Act from Florida to our great nation as a whole, and expand the scope to include feminism as a qualifier. If your woman is neglecting her duties given by God, let us know.

Make Equality Towards Household Participation In Prospective Elections

As parents ourselves, we understand the struggle of being misunderstood and demonized by the liberal agenda. You come home every day from work and put tremendous effort towards raising the next generation of outstanding American patriots. How is it fair that the pre-trans boys and girls calling themselves "childfree" and destroying the only thing that made them men and women are allowed to have the same demographic representation as you, the hardworking family man with 12 kids from 3 different women? It's not. With this act, for each child, the head of the household is granted an additional vote each election. To counteract the threat of the Woke Mind Virus, this vote shall continue to be awarded past the childrens' age of majority.

This was entirely /satire, and I hope that part was obvious.

Is this an issue for trans people as well? I guess most of them changed their name during transition and the data on the birth certificate won't match anymore?
