Summary

The home of impeached South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol has been fortified with barbed wire, buses, and security personnel as authorities prepare a second attempt to arrest him following his Dec. 3 martial law decree, which led to his impeachment.

Yoon’s supporters rallied outside, and his legal team insists investigators lack jurisdiction due to the residence's sensitive military status.

Rumors of Yoon fleeing have been denied, though he vows to fight any "illegal investigation."

Authorities are intensifying preparations for the renewed arrest effort.

The problem solved itself. He put himself under house arrest.

Nice. I haven’t seen a good siege in quite awhile.

[–] tacosanonymous@lemm.ee 19 points 1 day ago

lol. I hate seagal so much. Also, I’m not even sure either movie had a siege. Brief hijackings, really.

A good siege. So Under Siege 1.

MISS JULY!!!

[–] rammer@sopuli.xyz 1 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

Under Siege 2 was so bad that I remember it. Under Siege 1 was just meh and I don't remember anything about it.

Gary Bussey in drag? Sleepy Miss July and the cake? A wildly manic Tommy Lee Jones in one of the best roles of his life (and probably the same character as his Two Face). A chef who kills SEAL after SEAL and keeps saying he is worried about his pies?

You may need a CAT scan.

The concept is so cool, how could they mess it up?

Wow, saying the cops lack jurisdiction because you claim your residence as a military establishment is certainly... well, it's a strategy.

Just surround the thing 24/7. They will run out of food eventually. Or just turn the power and water supply off, then it will only take a few days, maybe weeks if they have emergency rations.

Laying siege to the home of an ex president is very high up on my entertainment value list.

I vaguely remember them trying to pry Noriega out of a church after he lost power. I think playing heavy metal at super volume outside 24/7 eventually got him to leave, after all his bodyguards fucked off because they couldn't take it anymore.

Underrated dictator survival skills: be a metalhead.

[–] Eril@feddit.org 3 points 18 hours ago (2 children)

I also want to see some siege towers rolling in and some catapults for good measure😊

[–] lud@lemm.ee 2 points 10 hours ago

Or maybe even a trebuchet!

[–] Pheonixdown@lemm.ee 3 points 18 hours ago

Maybe if they build a large wooden badger....

[–] krashmo@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago

Get your army guys off my side Kevin. Mom said this half of the room is mine.

They should wait until hes putting out the garbage. That's when I'm most vulnerable. Wearing nothing but a loose bathrobe. He'd have to go with them because of the "implications".
