I wonder how'd they react if somebody posted this in the Star Trek memes community?

[–] Lumidaub@feddit.org 24 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

With mild confusion as to the relevance.

No, really, I'm being mildly confused as to the relevance over here and I'd be eternally grateful for some help.

[–] finitebanjo@lemmy.world 13 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

The original meme is funny because it quotes all the wrong references for the media portrayed.

If you reposted it to a community for media which isn't even referenced, it adds yet another wrong onto the pile of wrongs.

... Oooh. Yeah, that's too clever for me.

Disney owns Narnia, Star Wars, Doctor Who and Marvel...

So if they pair up with WB or acquire Potter/LOTR, we could make this Infinite Crisis happen!

[–] Asidonhopo@lemmy.world 3 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

Disney owns Doctor Who?

Edit: apparently they bought international distribution rights to it in 2022

[–] TheGrandNagus@lemmy.world 1 points 3 weeks ago

The BBC owns Doctor Who.

[–] teft@lemmy.world 16 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Don’t worry. Rand Al Thor will stop them.

Aided by an Excalibur-wielding Picard.

[–] sundrei@lemmy.sdf.org 8 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

Could be dangerous. Better bring along The Luggage.

[–] CheeryLBottom@lemmy.world 4 points 3 weeks ago

That's more than fair

[–] Comment105@lemm.ee 3 points 3 weeks ago

That's unreasonable.

The sword's power makes you only see four lights.

Aww man, is this the one where Spock dies?

[–] Comment105@lemm.ee 5 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Too much skooma, I'm afraid. Those goddamn daleks are a menace.

[–] Buddahriffic@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago) (1 children)

Sorry, but tbh you know what's going to happen the moment he leaves the bridge to go make more lembas bread... by himself.

This would be the final film that would ever have to be produced.

Lego batman had already gotten very close.

Look for Kai Cosades in Balmora, stalker.

"The Great Emission of Saint Jiub."

I measure the pass of time by looking at this meme.

I now know I need to buy something for my sibling, thanks.

Is there a name for this kind of joke? I remember seeing it in like 2002 with a picard + firefly + something else mashup. It's kind of funny, but extra formulaic even as memes go. Reminds me of my dad trying to talk about media, so maybe it's like some sort of mutant dad joke.

[–] ewo@lemmy.sdf.org 1 points 3 weeks ago

You made me smile ty, Dad sounds like a real one :)

[–] Aussiemandeus@aussie.zone 2 points 3 weeks ago
