Oh what a surprise, the guy who was real concerned about the Uyghur Genocide is a transphobe. Can't believe these clowns keep rooking leftists, who should know better, into voting for them. Death to liberals

I say this as someone who knocked doors for Ralph Nader as a teenager in 2004 and got yelled at by people in a bipartisan way

Good thing I voted PSL PSL

[–] CommunistBear@hexbear.net 84 points 4 days ago

And my vote for Claudia becomes even easier

[–] FunkyStuff@hexbear.net 75 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Ugh. Can't trust anyone who isn't an outspoken socialist at this point.

Even then don't just assume. They may have some skeletons in the closet, and not just because Halloween is over.

i'm writing in Hamas

edit: actually PSL

[–] Wurmlard@hexbear.net 9 points 3 days ago (3 children)

You have to write in the psl? They are just on the ballot in my state. But i guess my state doesnt matter its 4 electoral votes and its the bluest state there is, i think. So no one really cares who is on the ballot.

[–] take_five_seconds@hexbear.net 7 points 3 days ago

You have to write in the psl?

Oh what a surprise, the guy who was real concerned about the Uyghur Genocide is a transphobe

lol I thought the libs were on stein’s head the other day bc she said the Uyghur thing was nonsense.

[–] combat_brandonism@hexbear.net 33 points 4 days ago

the greens are a random grab bag of social fascism, I wouldn't expect ideological consistency between any two members

[–] kristina@hexbear.net 51 points 4 days ago

death to every transphobe shrug-outta-hecks

And like that, made me a lock for de la Cruz

At first I thought "hey, maybe Green'll crack 5% this year" but honestly? Now I just hope they crash and burn, embarrassingly

[–] BeamBrain@hexbear.net 37 points 4 days ago

It's de la Cruz this year

[–] Rojo27@hexbear.net 51 points 4 days ago (2 children)

Does Jill Stien hold a similar view or did she not properly vet this guy? Either way, sucdems gonna succ.

[–] GaveUp@hexbear.net 29 points 4 days ago (1 children)

maybe a both sides type of thing? This way she gets plausible deniability while also appealing to the large transphobic voter base

[–] spectre@hexbear.net 19 points 4 days ago

They don't appear to have much more "party discipline" than the Democrats (who expect nothing of themselves, of course). They're prone to the same bs like this happening and should not be taken seriously.

[–] Evilphd666@hexbear.net 15 points 4 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (1 children)

I think the only hard vetting was the issue of Gaza as she said her VP was going to absolutely be pro Palestine. I don't know where Stein stands on the sports inclusion issue specifically, the party platform does not address specifically the issue of sports, but she has advocated to undo discrimatory laws against LGBTQ+ people.

I can't find a direct question to her on it. As a medical doc it would be good for her to weigh positively in. The Democrats are using this moment to smear the party as a whole at the Daily Beast, which is odd because they all know greens are more inclusive than democrats on this issue.

The @GreenPartyUS

has supported full equality for transgender persons in its party platform since 2000. #LGBTQ #WeAreGreen

Edit here is a recent. Haven't seen her address Ware's comments.

Fuck Butch Ware's transphobia and sinophobia. Who knows what other skeletons he has in his damned closet. Between this coming out and Our Revulsion trying to use Trump as a shield and vote shame me into consenting genocide and text spam basically bulsing a doxxing database on votes spamming me, it has been a very fustrating day. I am so sorry to the transgender allies and those wanting better. This shit hurts and Ware's bullshit perpetuates horrible ignorance and sterotypes.

[–] roux@hexbear.net 45 points 4 days ago (2 children)

What is it with libs who larp as progressives turning out to be transphobes? Colin Allred running against Cruz pulled the same shit about sports. Which is funny because my Dem friends are super pushing and wanting him to win even though they recently grilled a youth sports director on his stance on trans sports and tried throwing him under the bus over a milquetoast response that was basically him stating he "doesn't care as long as it's not hurting anyone."

[–] Angel@hexbear.net 33 points 4 days ago (1 children)

What is it with libs who larp as progressives turning out to be transphobes?

As a black trans person especially, I'm baffled that this seems shocking to you, but that's because I got a lot of personal experience to vouch for this. I see racism and transphobia as a core part of libs, even the ones who pretend to be slightly to the left of socdems. I've gotten both "subtle" racism and transphobia from them, and in scratched instances, some have taken off the mask.

[–] roux@hexbear.net 16 points 4 days ago

Tbf, the question was mostly rhetorical lol. meow-hug

[–] Frogmanfromlake@hexbear.net 21 points 4 days ago

“Vote blue no matter who”

Even if that person is a transphobe. What? Do you want transphobic Ted Cruz to win? Suck it up, cupcake.

[–] Fartster@hexbear.net 26 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

I voted for Stein because I want to add to the liberal meltdown over her popular vote count if Kamala loses.

0 chance the green party will ever wield power, but if they pass 5%, get federal funding and subsequently on the ballot in every state then we have a 3rd party that is at least anti-genocide.

No I don't believe there is any strategy that will move the US government left in time, but we are here and talking about this shit so that's my "tactical" vote. Green party is the compromise I guess.

[–] Homer_Simpson@hexbear.net 26 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Does the Green party have ANY critique of capitalism?

"We're against the bad kind of capitalism, CRONY capitalism!"

[–] Luna@hexbear.net 24 points 4 days ago
[–] Yukiko@hexbear.net 19 points 4 days ago

That's one way to torpedo your potential voterbase. Good luck getting to 5% with this fuckface.

[–] Lussy@hexbear.net 16 points 4 days ago (1 children)

That’s funny as fuck that you all were considering voting for the green party

[–] frauddogg@hexbear.net 21 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago) (1 children)

I think voting is fundamentally useless; but I do want to watch liberals seethe, then figure out how how to mentally contort themselves in a sufficient enough fashion to try and deny whichever third party cracks 5%. Call it morbid curiosity at this point.

Til finding this out about Ware, I figured Greens had the best chance of doing it this cycle.

[–] LaGG_3@hexbear.net 14 points 4 days ago

The libs are delusional enough that they'll think people who vote for a ML candidate would be shoe-ins for the-democrat votes - we're just not being pragmatic or realistic enough

[–] Ericthescruffy@hexbear.net 14 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago) (1 children)

Damnit...should have just wrote in PSL. I'LL try to be better next time. Will y'all forgive me?

They need to get beyond impromptu quasi celebrity picks.

I believe Butch is out of line with platform policy, which he has to have read and agreed to. Guy is good on Gaza, crap other things.

https://www.gp.org/transgender

Edit

Supposedly he had talks with the Lavender Greens and a statement is incoming. Feeling queezy already.

[–] PM_ME_YOUR_FOUCAULTS@hexbear.net 13 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Celebrity?? Who the fuck even is this guy?

[–] Evilphd666@hexbear.net 11 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (1 children)

He's some acedemic PhD historian of West Africa. I don't know how else to describe flashy people in acedemia. He's not as famous as say Carl Sagan or those other very public talk show scientists. Stein said she had a list of people whose names were making their way around the pro Palestinian student activist circles and this is who she chose. I never heard of the guy before he was vaulted to a VP slot.

He's fucked up with this and the China uyigur thing and I thunk he needs to hasan-stfu on topics that aren't his wheelhouse, and stop falling for stupid trap interviews. He's in acedemia circles. He's a professor. He should know kids and have all that training and experience with transgender students who will now not feel safe if he goes back to teaching.

He's been nothing but spitting L's past Gaza and not only is he spreading bullshit and making the party look bad, but he's spreading consent for hate and discrimination. That's not fucking cool. That's not what the Green Party professes. Not the Green Party I know. As VP he is representing the party and supposdly the platform on the ticket, and his imperalism and ignorance, which leads to his transphobia, selective or not, transphobia is transphobia which pisses me the fuck off as the Greens are better than that.

Obviously transgenders have a right to play sports with their peers. Exclusionary policies only teach others to hate and division which lead to discrimination throughout life. It fosters depression lonliness isolation which denies a person equal rights and equal worth within society. The Greens know this or at least should know this, and update their public facing stuff to specifically address this. Ware needs a serious dressing down and education. He's become a liability. I"m not on Xhitter otherwise I'd dress him down myself.

And it is on Stein and whatever commitee process she has to properly vet this kind of stuff. So that L oversight is on her.

I got into a mild disagreement with that first person on Twitter in that screenshot you're linking, after Butch Ware started whining about the Uyghurs. She was begging everyone to look at the platform and not the candidate (lol), for the sake of unity against the genocide in Palestine. What I told her was that liberals aren't a reliable ally on Palestine or anything else. I had to restrain myself from telling her "I told you so" after this clown started in on the transphobia.

[–] afters@hexbear.net 11 points 3 days ago (2 children)

why would someone even consider green over psl if they're voting third party?

[–] GarbageShoot@hexbear.net 16 points 3 days ago

Ballot presence and write-in laws making it so they can't vote PSL

[–] foxontherocks@hexbear.net 14 points 3 days ago (3 children)

I do like that Stein is out there, at every major left wing protest causing trouble and getting arrested for it. I remember she vandalized a bulldozer at the DAPL protests and thought that was worth some support. PSL is invisible. I have literally never seen La Riva or De la Cruz in person. They aren't running around trying to be seen. No one knows who they are and it is because they aren't hustling like Jill is.

[–] CaliforniaSpectre@hexbear.net 12 points 3 days ago

Claudia is definitely hustling all over the country. She's been holding events in lots of states at community centers and universities. Maybe she could have been flashier at some protests but PSL might not want to entangle their lead party candidate in anything with potential criminal consequences as they are still a smaller party than Greens and probably don't have as substantial of a legal fund.

[–] jack@hexbear.net 7 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

This is weird because Claudia and Karina are extremely visible at many protests around the country. Claudia was even arrested in NYC this year.

[–] hungrybread@hexbear.net 13 points 3 days ago

fwiw PSL and Green have shown up to some of the the same protests this year

[–] EllenKelly@hexbear.net 3 points 3 days ago

Theyre trying to steal democrat votes!
