This is from yesterday, In Jacksonville, in response to the racist that killed three people in Dollar General, then himself.

[–] VanillaGorilla@kbin.social 79 points 1 year ago (1 children)

He should have started with himself, then moved to the others.

[–] howsetheraven@lemmy.world 14 points 1 year ago

Better yet, grab Ronnie for a tag team and start with him.

[–] JustZ@lemmy.world 49 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Another Trump loving suicide shooter.

[–] MisterMoo@kbin.social 15 points 1 year ago

Stochastic terrorism.

If 1/2 those people voted, he wouldn't be governor any longer.

Making DeSatan uncomfortable and drowning him out with boos is great and all, but what really would get to him? Losing an election.

The turn out in the 2022 election in FL was a pathetic 50%.

Cue up the endless excuses of why people can't vote, and yet 7.7 million people were able to, so clearly it isn't impossible.

[–] IMongoose@lemmy.world 49 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I don't know the situation but voter suppression does exist. I think in Texas Republicans specifically targeted blue voting areas to limit the number of polling places creating multi hour wait lines, while red areas were minutes. Add in early and mail in voting restrictions and many people are disenfranchised.

[–] KevonLooney@lemm.ee 15 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Fucking vote anyway. My vote doesn't matter and I showed up early just to kick Trump while he was down.

[–] CoggyMcFee@lemmy.world 13 points 1 year ago (4 children)

For some people it’s a genuine hardship or impossibility to wait hours

The problem with delighting in DeSantis's humiliation is that there isn't a Republican to root for in his place.

If DeSantis fails... we get Trump, or Vivek ramoswami, or Mike Pence, or Chris Christie, or any of these other ghouls.

[–] whofearsthenight@lemm.ee 11 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Hmm, should i have the fascist, or fascist-lite? Tough call...

[–] afraid_of_zombies@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Try Fascist Zero. All the great bootlicking of fascism but none of the calories.

They can all be booed.

DeSantis is not better than trump. Is just as pretty and childish. He seems less volatile but equally dangerous. Let them know they are not wanted. If trump got boos from the start, we wouldn't be in this situation.

Alright, hear me out, I hate him for how capricious he was but Christine is heads and shoulders above the rest of those clowns. He would actually be competent in the job.

[–] strangehill2dieon@lemmy.world 17 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I'm a new jerseyian and I'd never thought I'd be rooting for Christie but here we are. I would one hundred percent take him over any of the other republican candidates.

[–] pottedmeat7910@lemmy.world 8 points 1 year ago (2 children)

I have some Jersey roots and I'm feeling the same... It's amazing how remarkably terrible the GOP have become that Christie starts looking good.

He still doesn't have a chance in hell...he's not nearly as racist, bigoted, or Q'd up enough for the crazies that vote R.

Because he is a RINO who made his career running things instead of fighting cultural war bullshit.

I still don't want him as president.

No one gives a fuck about DeSantis, including his base. The only relevant GOP candidate is Trump. It's absolutely impossible anyone else wins the primary unless drops out, gets disqualified, or dies.

[–] AssholeDestroyer@lemmy.ml 16 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Wow its almost like all republicans are ghouls.

[–] raptir@lemm.ee 7 points 1 year ago (1 children)

It's sad to me that Pence seems like a reasonable candidate in this list.

[–] flossdaily@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Pence enabled Trump's presidency more than any of them. He was with Trump every step of the way until the very end.

His sole act of defiance was that he bravely ... didn't participate in a coup?!

And even after that he has pledged to support Trump for the presidency AGAIN even if Trump is convicted.

It's just Trump. None of the others in the primary are even close. There are really two things to be concerned about:

  1. Enough people vote for Trump even though at this point he's probably been sentenced, which I thinks is pretty unlikely given that he already lost to Biden and incumbents rarely lose. The ones that lost in the last 40 years have been Republicans.
  2. Vivek. He's enough of an outsider and flips like Simone Biles. He's also the most reasonable counter to the primary argument against Biden - age. That said, in a general I really doubt he's got a real shot.
[–] newthrowaway20@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Vivek isn't a threat. No one likes him anywhere. Republicans hate him cuz he's brown, no way he'll win anything.

That mental picture made me spill my coffee, too funny...

It is like getting better from some illness, you are just delaying the unavoidable but you still get to be happy for a while.

Booing DeSantis is so hot right now.

Been that way for years if you asked me.

[–] originalfrozenbanana@lemm.ee 30 points 1 year ago

I could watch this all day if it weren’t under such sad circumstances

[–] sin_free_for_00_days@sopuli.xyz 30 points 1 year ago (4 children)

The cut off that lady who said something along the lines of "Don't boo, bullets don't have a party!" What a bullshit statement.

[–] preludeofme@lemmy.world 25 points 1 year ago

Yeah bullets don't have a party but the assholes pulling the trigger and putting the bullets in their hands do

[–] Tigbitties@kbin.social 5 points 1 year ago

“Don’t boo, bullets don’t have a party!”

Wait, wait, wait... aren't they the ones that say guns don't kill people do? Now it's the bullet's fault?

I was saying "Boo-urns"

[–] Vlhacs@reddthat.com 16 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Dude's part of the problem and either doesn't know it or doesn't care. Each makes them a terrible person.

YOUR POLICIES CAUSED THIS! THESE DEATHS ARE ON YOUR HANDS!

About. Fucking. Time. I've spent the last decade watching people openly talk about establishing a white christian ethnostate in America and the supposed "opposition" response was to make sure to be polite and to assume good faith. Fuck that. This dude is proud about how he wants to kill me and everyone like me. He moved to that level, let's engage him on that level.
