Hello new Lemmy friends!
Word on the street tells us our community is regularly making it the all page. While this is very cool news to hear, we can see how the sudden emergence of our posts in your feed might feel jarring and probably raises some questions. And also how, without knowing the backstory, our community might appear less than virtuous, so here’s a very brief introduction which hopefully will clear a few things up.
The woman we’re discussing is a body positive influencer and media personality who has gained fame and wealth by lying, manipulating, exploiting her children for content, plagiarizing BIPOC creators and blaming her BIPOC content editor for it (thereby ruining her career), among other things. Her fraudulent behavior is no different (I’d argue worse) from the likes of Jay Shetty (google him if you don’t know who he is or what he did). She’s the latest in a long line of grifting influencers who are abusing their power, taking advantage of their position and exploiting their followers. The difference is that she’s Canadian. Our laws around social media and advertising aren’t as clear (and where they are she’s disobeyed them), add to that, our mainstream media has protected her from those who’ve tried to expose her grift and silenced/intimidated anyone who’s tried to speak out.
Our Reddit sub was taken down due to reports of copyright infringement, which is unfounded and categorically untrue as no one ever tried to steal her work and pass it off as their own. The mods have made an appeal. While at first glance it may seem like we’re just “shitting on her” the sub has been more devoted to investigation and posting proof of her lies than just bitching for the sake of bitching. The reality is that she’s hurt, manipulated and let down a lot of people. She stole intellectual property and employment, caused mental distress and has repeatedly told lies to boost engagement and profit off her audience, so people are understandably upset that their voices are being silenced.
We’re grateful to have been welcomed so kindly by so many of you, and to those sticking around to watch the drama unfold, we’re glad to have you!

Nana has been sick with COVID which is why Birdie has had to take care of her own child the last couple weeks.
For all her faults, I respect this hugely. Too many people are “over” testing for Covid and there are still so many vulnerable people to protect. She gets points for this one from me.
Also Sarah and Shane are trash to not watch their own kid daily. They’re unemployed, and selfish to put that on a woman with chronic illness.
I wouldn’t knock her Covid testing at all. I’ve just been wondering where she is. I knew there was absolutely zero chance BirdShit has been watching her own kid by choice. She most likely picked up Covid from the Disney travel. I’m surprised they didn’t all get it.
We still are masking and are very cautious due to my major health issues and past surgeries (and I’m always advocating for my fellow disabled friends) . Nana Kim saying this is awesome:). I’ll give credit always where credit is due.

Sarah sucks though for dropping L off with her every day though. Maybe she’ll have a dose of reality now and realize NK shouldn’t be L’s primary caretaker as someone with a chronic illness. But knowing selfish Sarah probably not and L will be back there as soon as NK tests negative. Shane sucks too for letting it happen. And NK is a sucker for buying into Sarah having a demanding career, all she does is make a belly slap video every few weeks and open gifts, wow so demanding.
She was full on defense mode to strangers on the internet. I just know she’s referring to Birdie’s very demanding career and travel in the sentence I highlighted 😂 I didn’t realize she was claiming to suffer from Chronic Fatigue as well. How the hell does someone with those 2 conditions run after a 3 year old everyday. How did she manage doing 5 park days in a row at Disney? Plus 2 travels days which are also always tiring. I find really hard to believe.
It does seem hard to believe. I don’t think I’d be able to do all that travel and watching a 3 year old every day in her conditions. Like she went to Paris, then what like a month later she was in Disney watching L for 5 days. I know you solider on sometimes but still idk 🤷🏻♀️
She still doesn’t feel well I’m calling long covid - I had it for 9 excruciating months and didn’t have an underlying condition

I didn’t know that either. Sarah has the money to have L in daycare or with a nanny but she uses her mother who obviously gives into Sarah. Her and Shane are shitty people.
She’ll probably get dumped tomorrow. NK made it to the Bday party yesterday. This is also her claiming COVID is going around in Guelph without acknowledging she probably picked up while traveling to Disney.
Covid IS going around southern Ontario big time. Incubation period is 5-6 days. Haven’t they been back from Disney much longer than that. I do respect her for getting tested and isolating.
She said she got is 2 weeks ago. So right when they got back.

"I take care of my Granddaughter daily". Sarah and Shame are both home. How lazy can parents be?
It's sad that she watches her grandchild daily while having fibro and chronic fatigue. Her daughter does eff all most of the day, and honestly, even if she was as busy as she claims, she has the financial means for a nanny. I guess NK is reaping what she sowed. She enables it, and Birdie is selfish with no self awareness.
