This world needs people willing to live for causes they believe in. 12 people not in captivity inching themselves closer to death is just going to create 12 less people who care.

Some hunger strikes have been effective. Others not.

They don’t necessarily end in death.

In general, I think threatening death upon yourself to people who probably already want you dead isn't an effective tactic outside of certain circumstances like incarceration.

The assumption is that people care that they are voluntarily starving themselves.
