I'm sad that valve has so far shelved plans for Halflife 3.
They might revive it, but I think they even stopped working on the new Source Engine.
By new Source Engine, are talking about Source 2? It already powers Dota 2, Half-Life Alyx and the upcoming Counter Strike 2.
I believe it was actually Source 3. I remember news from a few years back that Valve had stopped work on it.
I believe it was early in development at the time.
After completing alyx, I wouldn't count it out.
Everyone should play alyx.
I'm not even finished Alyx, I started again when I got my new build done and I went from an 8/10-10/10 and I haven't even finished it yet. I played HL2VR mod immediately prior and it has completely changed the way I view the whole series.
Yeah it took me literally years to complete it and then suddenly got on a roll and finished it in one week. On completion I don't know why I didn't do it sooner. It was a fantastic journey.
It's given me a huge perspective shift on why the 7-hour war was only 7-hours.
The combine in their prime before Dr Freeman's crowbar entered the scene, is a terrifying machination.
My appreciation for Alyx Vance has also skyrocketed, badass woman, through and through.
Edit: forgot to mention A FUCKING VIDEOGAME LETS ME PUSH THE DAMN ELEVATOR BUTTON
I thought they officially announced Half-Life 3 was dead a few years ago. They released the game's script online so fans could get some sort of conclusion.
Valve didn't release it, just en ex-employee though, right?
And it wasn't the script, just what that employee planned it to be.
Yeah, Marc Laidlaw, one of the creators of the series
Yep, it was Marc Laidlaw on his personal blog after he left Valve.
