Holy shit. So much wrong in this and from a serving Police officer. Firstly he's named the law wrong (Wanton and Furious Driving, not Cycling). Goes on a rant about Charlie Alliston who wasnt actually going that fast (Police said 18mph, the video they produced for evidence was laughable!) . That cyclist was convicted because he'd removed his brakes (a moronic thing to do!) That and there is NO LAW for speed limits on bicycles in the UK. The riders in the original video have no way to know they were over 30mph. They were focused on the road surface and the traffic, as well as the steep hill they were obviously travelling down.

I was stopped for "pavement riding" on a cycle path once, and another time for riding off a dropped kerb/driveway to access the road (asked the WPC how cars access the road and she threatened to get me taken down the station). Cops here are all boy racers who hate cyclists. The actively post about it online for fuck sake.
