Yes they're illegal. But legalising them would be a step towards safer batteries, safer users. The real issue is the Police dont want to make the roads safe any more over here. They themselves are boy-racers.

The Government also had the option of stopping the private scooters from coming into the country and they too did nothing. They had the option of enforcing safety standards and did nothing there, either.

Cars (drivers) kill 3000x more people here in the UK and injure something like 200,000 a year compared to about a hundred with escooters and ebikes.

Yes, but have you considered that these dangerous bikes might make that necessary suffering caused by cars even worse? Think about the drivers!
