I don't use mastodon, but it would be cool if they found a way to display so that the top level topic would be a tweet and the comments would be like reply tweets to it (I don't know what the mastodon equivalent to tweet is)
They call it "toot" i think. :-)
Mastodon tweets used to be called a "toot" but they changed it to "publish" after the Twitter migration. I miss calling them toots. Those were the good ol' days.
Well now I have to call them toots, way more fun haha
Literally found this post as I was searching for that exact thing. My Masto feed is a MESS if I follow a Lemmy community. I only want the top level links to be displayed, and if I tap on that, then see and interact with all the comments. Seems like there should be a way to do this…
Yeah they definitely need to do something to make that federation a bit more pleasant haha
