Evernote. Iโm not sure why I even stayed with them for so long; probably the pain of moving after so many years. Switched to Joplin before they doubled their fees for zero new (useful) features.

Yeah, I dropped EN years ago, when they doubled (at the time) the fees after acquiring Skitch. I floated around trying to make other things work, then found Joplin in the past year or so. Haven't looked back.
Never had a reason to subscribe. But my notes are all text and I just need it on my PC and phone. They keep trying to push their subscription though, with their offer that will soon expire but also has been bothering me for many years no matter how often I decline it.
