This is a community in the spirit of "Am I The Asshole" where people can post their own bans from lemmy or reddit or whatever and get some feedback from others whether the ban was justified or not.
Sometimes one just wants to be able to challenge the arguments some mod made and this could be the place for that.
Rules
- Post only about bans or other sanctions from mod(s).
- Provide the cause of the sanction (e.g. the text of the comment).
- Provide the reason given by the mods for the sanction.
- Don't use private communications to prove your point. We can't verify them and they can be faked easily.
- Don't deobfuscate mod names from the modlog with admin powers.
- Don't harass mods or brigade comms. Don't word your posts in a way that would trigger such harassment and brigades.
- Do not downvote posts if you think they deserved it. Use the comment votes (see below) for that.
- You can post about power trippin' in any social media, not just lemmy. Feel free to post about reddit or a forum etc.
Expect to receive feedback about your posts, they might even be negative.
Make sure you follow this instance's code of conduct. In other words we won't allow bellyaching about being sanctioned for hate speech or bigotry.
YTPB matrix channel: For real-time discussions about bastards or to appeal mod actions in YPTB itself.
Some acronyms you might see.
- PTB - Power-Tripping Bastard: The commenter agrees with you this was a PTB mod.
- YDI - You Deserved It: The commenter thinks you deserved that mod action.
- BPR - Bait-Provoked Reaction: That mod probably overreacted in charged situation, or due to being baited.
- CLM - Clueless mod: The mod probably just doesn't understand how their software works.

Literally telling on herself that she's inactive for weeks to months at a time. But yeah, definitely Ada's fault for trying to actually moderate the largest comm on the instance. I think both sides here are at fault though, as I've seen (and been disappointed by) the way Ada moderates the matrix space she runs.
Tbf, Moss is only one mod among many (I count 10 in the sidebar) - the more damning portion is how it seems NONE of the mods were checking the modlog reports and resolving them.
Also, I don't know the history of the 196@lemmy.world community but from what some comments said, at some point the community moved to lemmy.blahaj.zone and then had no mods, thus belonging entirely to Ada as the "owner"? And Ada,.as she said, has just been doing her thing since before 196 existed even on Reddit. It's not her fault for simply living her authentic life - and rather sounds like the fault of whoever wanted to move the community from lemmy.world to Blåhaj (before abandoning it entirely into Ada's hands to clean up the mess left behind).
This entire situation seems so fucked up from every side. The mods have responsibilities to both the admin as well as the users of the community. They ignored major parts to both of those, tried to move, failed, and now continue to step ever deeper into it with the more they reveal about their "internal voting" and such the worse that the community feels about it all.
It's good to have choices though: if the new mods want to create a different space on Lemmy.World, that's awesome? But they absolutely screwed up the communication about that.:-P
You don't want you sysadmin doing content moderation. They're used to back end work and purging/protecting their instance from the liability of its users. It should be expected an admin will be more stringent and authoritative than volunteer mods.
And yet that is precisely what the mods chose - by abandoning the community for days at a time (tbf they claimed to read it "daily" and thus be active - but the difference between that and actually checking the moderation reports submitted is an enormous gap!), they left it to her to have to clean up. She did not want it, but she stepped up nonetheless. Then they threw her under the bus and drove it over her.
I wish them luck in the new community. The rest of the community though seems to have different plans:-). e.g. !196@lemmy.world has 9 posts submitted in the last day (24 hours), and !196@lemmy.blahaj.zone has the same (10 but close enough), while for !onehundredninetysix@lemmy.blahaj.zone I stopped counting when it reached that same amount in just the last 2 hours, and then I did continue just one more time to see that it again had that same amount in the previous 2 hours before that.
Also, a week ago that's how many posts !196@lemmy.world had before the mods moved back to it. So that community basically has no new posts at all since the attempted move.
While the community with the new mods (!onehundredninetysix@lemmy.blahaj.zone) has 10 times more posts than both of the other 2 communities combined. It's as clear a signal as one could hope to hear that they were not fans of this whole process. They choose Ada and lemmy.blahaj.zone and the new mods over the old remote LW mods in charge of the LW community, even at the cost of the effort to move to another community.
