Does this app work as well for all parts of the world? I’m in Europe

Yes, it covers all the regions and Europe's has the most detailed maps in openstreetmap especially Germany.

I have a subscription to OSM (just to support them). Would that be lost if I use this app?

No, as it uses the same openstreetmaps database to power the app. So you can continue to donate.
