I'd love for this instance to do away with up/down votes. But so many here like to use it as weapon, I don't see that changing.
I mean you attack and troll people with words, how is them doing the same with votes any different? Seems a bit hypocritical.
What words do you have that I was trolling and attacking people?
https://lemmy.world/comment/12909326
Come on man, you said them, you know. This whole act is just reinforcing how insufferable you are. My whole interaction with you was you just being annoying and cringe. Then you're like "why are people upset with me", because I only interacted with you once and it was enough to know the kind of person you are.
Let’s be clear—our very first interaction started with you insulting me by calling me an “edgelord,” which is a blatant provocation. As seen in your link: https://lemmy.world/comment/12909326
You initiated the conversation by insulting me, and now you’re falsely accusing me of trolling when I was simply responding to your attack.
You set the tone for that exchange, but you’re acting as if I’m the one in the wrong. It’s weird for you to insult someone and then play the victim when they respond.
Do you think it’s acceptable to personally attack someone in your very first interaction with them, even tho they haven’t attacked you?!
That’s your argument for calling me a troll? You’re saying I’m a troll because I responded to your unprovoked insult to me?! And I still didn’t personally attack you after that. lol
Yeah, because you said something cringe. You then tried to have a convo and as soon as I did back you just trolled.
You set the tone with your horrible comment. If someone says something horrible you can't expect hugs and kisses buddy. You really can't help but play the victim can you?
So you insulted me first. Right out of the gate. So no man, I don't think you can insult someone, then get mad and call them a troll if you are the one that started the argument. Sorry, man, you're not gonna change my mind on that.
And I'm not gonna change your mind. That's ok. But I never insulted you or called you names. But you called me a name. Right off the bat.
You were saying shiity things out of the gate. If you're walking on the street and someone is yelling ignorant shit and you call them cringe, who is the person in the wrong there? Stop playing the victim, it's pathetic.
And let's not act like civility is morality. If you can't realize you can be an asshole without directly calling someone names then you're beyond naive.
No, you THOUGHT what I said was shitty. But it wasn't directed to you. And I didn't think it was shitty. YOU think it's shitty. And that's your right. But then you called me a name.
So yeah, let's use your scenario. You're walking down the street, you hear someone yelling what you think is ignorant shit, and you call them cringe. Then they stop, turn around and defend themselves to you, and then you say they are mean and shouldn't have said that.
You are the one playing victim here, not me. You said I was a troll because I responded to your insults.
How about you don't insult people just because you don't agree with what they said?
I have never called you names. You have called me names.
You think that's cool. I don't think it's cool and I think it weakens your argument.
"I love how much drama she's causing."
That is cringe as fuck. Especially if you're an adult.
And in your scenario you're still wrong lol. I walk down the street and hear someone yelling and call them cringe. If they feel the need to come over and defend that to a random stranger that makes them even more cringe. How weird.
Cringe to you. But I do love how much drama she's causing. She made the dems so scared they financed a fucking commercial about there. I'm all for anything that shakes up the status quo.
You seem to be seeing "cringe" everywhere you look. That's a "you" problem, not a "me" problem, friend. Thank you! :)
So you love drama and you're excited that people are scared and worried about their future. You just like to shake things up like an cool anarchist.
Yeah dude, I called it right.
And nah, haven't called anyone cringe in a while, but the word just fits so well here.
I love political drama in the news, yes. And other people do too, that's why it's in the news. That's how news orgs make their money. They report on drama, then get clicks, then get paid.
I'm not scared of Trump. I don't care if he wins (I don't think he will though). I don't like him. I don't like Harris. So again, I like Jill Stein. Even tho I didn't vote for her.
You think it's cringe. Cool. But that doesn't make me a troll. That just makes me a person you are annoyed with. That's a different thing.
Yes and lots of people are racist. Just because a lot of people do something doesn't make it good. Take a look at what drama is, the anxiety, stress, and pain it can cause people who are actually tied up in it. I think it's fucked up to like that shit honestly.
You think you're not a troll. Cool. Doesn't make what I said any less true. It just makes me a person that said something you're annoyed with. That's a different thing. Hrmmm...
But it also doesn't make what you said any more true. You gave your opinion. I gave you mine. You called me names. I didn't call you names.
And if you think calling someone names is some line that is crossed I don't know what to say. I could be very, very mean to someone without calling them names but if they tell me to "stop you jerk" they're somehow worse or distinct? That's a really odd distinction but ok, you're welcome to your own world view.
And if you think that calling people names is NOT crossing a line in a forum, then I don't know what to say.
We have different opinions on that. Obviously.
Wait. So if I say to someone: "You seem very uneducated and unable to understand the most basic of concepts. I'm trying to talk to you and you sound like you've never had an intelligent conversation before. You sound like you've never talked to a person older than 5. I could explain this to my 10 year old and he could teach it to you. Would that be more your speed? You look like you can even begin to understand a single word I'm saying. You're lack of basic reasoning is hurting everyone around you and the world will be a better place when you're no longer in it."
And they say "you're a jerk" they've crossed a line? Not me? Jeeze man, yeah we do have a difference of opions.
That would be more my speed, yes.
Lol, fair enough. If you own it and stand by it not much I can say.
I ain't scared of Trump neither, brother! He's helping our cause of ending democracy so the devil-jesus can return to his rightful place on the throne. Something about duopolies too!!
Friend, once we end democracy, we can lock these people up! They cannot infringe on our rights like this. Shills unite!!!1
Friend, thank you for representing the Christ-hating Christian worker's party. Awooo!
Hey! You inspired me, so thank you!
The Man Who Hunted Sea Lions on Lemmy: https://lemmy.world/post/21037978
You need help. These are not the actions of a mentally stable and healthy person.
Help? Oh, you’re right—I need help crafting even more diabolical plots and outrageous stories!
Friend, I really thought you’d be more flattered, considering you introduced me to the term “sealioning.”
I had the Tales for the Cryptic Lemmy community ready for a while but couldn’t decide on the perfect story to kick things off.
Then you, with your tireless dedication to associating me with that term, sparked some real inspiration! I’ve taken your passion and turned it into something... well, either brilliant or a complete disaster, depending on how much some people despise it. I mean, let’s be honest—my brain, my writing. Being this prolific, oy!
Can you even imagine the level of crap I’ll be churning out now? I’ve already posted three stories to that writing community in one day! And there’s plenty more where that came from!
But hey, all in good fun, right? So, thank you! Your relentless efforts—sending that cartoon to me over and over, throwing accusations—finally got through to my tiny, uneducated brain.
I think, and I know you'll correct me if I'm wrong, but I think we're kinda getting close to being friends now. Mutual admiration, at least. Right?
Thanks! :)
So, is the text AI created just like the artwork? Seems a socialist would be less interested in tools that steal the work of hardworking men and women.
I wish I could blame AI for the horrible writing, but nope, the whole craptacular spectacle is 100% me. Been doing the writing thing for over 20 years now. And check this out, guess about my former career. I was in a marketing PR department of all things! Can you believe that? Me, in PR! Oh man, the laughs.
20 years spent writing and designing materials for a vast healthcare corporate insurance machine, helping them squeeze more money out of us plebs. And now? Here I am, using those same skills to churn out stories that somehow manage to offend an entirely new crowd. Gotta love the irony!
OR I’m actually a lil anonymous bot, humming away on a tiny server in Mother Russia, zipping ions back and forth to keep a whole crew of young Russian men and women off the front lines. All while spitting out endless streams of propaganda to make sure Trump wins. And posting lil bizarre stories that no one will read. I mean, we all know which theory sounds cooler, right?!
So you, an avowed socialist, are still fine with the wage theft of using AI trained on the work of real artists without compensation for your "artwork" though, right?
Hell, not paying the people whose work benefited you is really much more a Trump move rather than socialism.
And seriously, talk to a mental healthcare professional. This behavior is not supporting your mental stability or contributing towards your long term happiness.
Friend, like I said, I spent 20 years in a mktg/PR dept as a designer and writer. So no, it’s not wage theft, because I wouldn’t hire anyone else to do it—I’d do it myself anyway. But is it wage theft for others to use? Oh, absolutely! But meh, us being on this forum is chipping away at the publishing industry. How many people read newspapers anymore? You reading the news online? That’s taking jobs from printers and their entire industry.
And, look there, I see you’re still stuck on thinking I want Trump to win! That’s soooo cute. But, come on now, Trump winning? Not a chance. Not even close. You realize that, right?
Harris will win by a landslide, so why so glum?
I'm telling ya, you care for me! Asking me to seek mental help. You're looking out for me. We're almost friends. I can feel it. We're close.
But I gotta be honest with you: I am experiencing long-term happiness right now. I love my life. Thank you for caring, though! By the way, how have you gone this many comments without bringing up sealioning yet?!
Come on, at least the cartoon post. Thanks, friend! :)
But you didn't do the artwork yourself, you used AI to do it. That is wage theft because the AI was undoubtedly trained on work where the creators were not offered compensation. You could have paid for a stock image or you could have done a half-ass job yourself but you opted for the more morally-bankrupt version.
And I didn't say you wanted Trump to win, I just pointed out you were following the same playbook.
For the rest, I didn't bring up Harris or anything else election related, just your descent into obsession and fixation that is not indicative of happiness or good mental health. You can still choose to get better.
You give me so much. I want to give back. My current over-the-top horror story is fun. Here is a lil excerpt:
As he feverishly tore through the pages of the dusty book about the Dark Mormons, a creeping sensation crawled up his spine. Something was slipping away. His humanity? No, that couldn’t be it. He was still a decent guy, wasn’t he? Caring, kind, ok maybe not too popular, but who needed tons of friends when you had a heart?
He viewed himself as a geek, sure, but a geek with soul. Yet... something gnawed at him. Was it possible? Could the Dark Mormon stuff actually be real? The thought slithered into his mind, leaving an unsettling chill in its wake. He had a tendency to take things too seriously. Maybe he should just ease up a bit. He smiled to himself, no way any of this could be real.
He read the next passage, the words sinking like stones in his gut. It spoke of a man named Jebediah, a fanatic consumed by his obsession with raising the Dark Prophet Smith. A devotion so twisted, so absolute, that he sacrificed his entire family to bring the prophet into the world.
Then there some loud shuffling noises, dust flying the air and settling down. Maybe mistakenly put down as it was a rat. blah, blah, blah. The guy is an accountant looking for signs and numbers in a dusty old book of Dark Mormon secrets. You know, the usual trope. Terrible, terrible writing. But hey, it's going to the community as soon as I finish. Thank you! :)
But I would have done it myself if I didn't use AI. So I wouldn't have ever hired anyone do it. I've done plenty of illustrations and paintings, but they take way longer. I was in the industry for 20 years, friend. They didn't have AI when I was doing it. I had to write that shit AND design it AND illustrate. Patient education materials too. You want some soul-crushing work, try that! lol
Yep! And actually I love how seriously you used sentence. I like how you are so emotionally charged when talking to me. I'm inspired to put that sort of behavior into a story I am working on. Thank you! See? You are so awesome for give me so much stuff to work with! Please please tell me you are this serious in every conversation you have in real life. Fascinating! Thank you! :)
So now you're just threatening people with more bullying? Do you not see how unhinged you've become?
Threatening people?! What are you even going on about? I haven't threatened anyone. Give me an example.
Saying your behavior towards me inspires me to parody it, isn't a threat. What in the world are you talking about?
And friend, if you post that sealion toon again, that's gonna knock all this down! lol
Seriously, get help
You too. Thank you! :)
BTW, how many more times are you going to edit this? Never know when it's suitable to respond when you're feverishly rewriting your comments constantly.
Well, that's the ongoing saga of being a crappy writer. I type too fast. Then I think of something else what will clarify things, add to it. Take something away.
Trust me, just as annoying for me as it is for you. Even the stories I published to the writing community have been changed a few times after posting. lmao
But you know, there is a solution. You could just not reply or block me. Not that I am giving you advice, but you know...
<this reply may be edited in the next 30 seconds>
No, you don't get to set the terms of engagement in a public forum
lol The fact that you think I was trying to set the terms of engagement, by making a suggestion, is hilarious. You're awesome, friend. But hey, at least you didn't post the sea lion 'toon; so we're getting somewhere! Thank you! :)
