You give me so much. I want to give back. My current over-the-top horror story is fun. Here is a lil excerpt:
As he feverishly tore through the pages of the dusty book about the Dark Mormons, a creeping sensation crawled up his spine. Something was slipping away. His humanity? No, that couldn’t be it. He was still a decent guy, wasn’t he? Caring, kind, ok maybe not too popular, but who needed tons of friends when you had a heart?
He viewed himself as a geek, sure, but a geek with soul. Yet... something gnawed at him. Was it possible? Could the Dark Mormon stuff actually be real? The thought slithered into his mind, leaving an unsettling chill in its wake. He had a tendency to take things too seriously. Maybe he should just ease up a bit. He smiled to himself, no way any of this could be real.
He read the next passage, the words sinking like stones in his gut. It spoke of a man named Jebediah, a fanatic consumed by his obsession with raising the Dark Prophet Smith. A devotion so twisted, so absolute, that he sacrificed his entire family to bring the prophet into the world.
Then there some loud shuffling noises, dust flying the air and settling down. Maybe mistakenly put down as it was a rat. blah, blah, blah. The guy is an accountant looking for signs and numbers in a dusty old book of Dark Mormon secrets. You know, the usual trope. Terrible, terrible writing. But hey, it's going to the community as soon as I finish. Thank you! :)
