Fediverse vs Disinformation
Pointing out, debunking, and spreading awareness about state- and company-sponsored astroturfing on Lemmy and elsewhere. This includes social media manipulation, propaganda, and disinformation campaigns, among others.
Propaganda and disinformation are a big problem on the internet, and the Fediverse is no exception.
What's the difference between misinformation and disinformation? The inadvertent spread of false information is misinformation. Disinformation is the intentional spread of falsehoods.
By equipping yourself with knowledge of current disinformation campaigns by state actors, corporations and their cheerleaders, you will be better able to identify, report and (hopefully) remove content matching known disinformation campaigns.

Yup, wasn't 1 billion. It was "only" 300 million dollars.
For those who cant read:
This funding does not come at disaster victims’ expense. Neither of the programs for migrants uses money from FEMA’s Disaster Relief Fund, which is primarily used after natural disasters. Congress funds the migrant and disaster relief programs separately.
It was FEMA funding that was allocated to migrants from the start. It’s not “stolen/moved” from hurricane relief funds like the GOPers claim.
SSP is a Title II, DRF is Title III. Those are different things. Money from Title III appropriations HAVE NOT been reallocated into Title II programs. The end.
