If this is a one time work, I would recommend using WordPress with a free template. You have to learn WordPress, but it will be easier than learning HTML CSS js trio.

I am not a big fan of storing the passwords and 2fa together since if it is compromised, you lose both layers at the same time. But the alternative is not so convenient. But then in security, it is always a balance between the two.

There is also Cromite.

While they may not be able to force small developers, they can force the users by deeming all browsers that do not implement this feature illegal. This possibly will not work on the tech savvy, but standard users (the majority) will be affected.

Well, we have all been to a waterpark, no? The second case poses more difficult issues, though.

I would not. 11 is ok to use nowadays.

Why not milpsi?

submitted 1 year ago by styx@beehaw.org to c/lemmy_support@lemmy.ml

I am trying to install the lemmy to my vps using the docker approach following the guide in https://join-lemmy.org/docs/en/administration/install_docker.html . First, it gives a version error so I changed the topmost line to version: "3.5. But then I get the following error during sudo docker-compose up -d:

Building lemmy
ERROR: Cannot locate specified Dockerfile: docker/Dockerfile

I am not sure where is the mentioned dockerfile. So any ideas on how to proceed?

Regular markdown should work, I guess.

do I then need to provide content?

No. You manage the server, and manage people registering. If it is enabled, they create communities (I.e. subreddits) and provide content. They can also use other server communities via federation.
